I agree completely also, the main problem is that there are good opinions our there but its impossible to have a good discussion about it. When every post is posted about kids who are just learning about the Jets and not a veteran Jet fan. So at times it is tough and hard to find who the consistent posters are. But I will say in my Draft Summary we are digging up good conversation and thinking about the positive of the draft not what we could or should have done. They all are now NY Jets so lets find something in the future to discuss not the past.

    Youth?

The way I look at it is that the Jets could have gotten Leinart, Mangold, and Justice and everyone would still be talking about how good our o-line will be with young talented guys at each position. The difference would be, we would have Leinart instead of Clemens as our future QB. Is the difference in potential between Ferguson and Justice close to the difference between Leinart and Clemens?

Well said RT! I got bashed a couple of times in the official draft thread. Not because I felt the OLine was bad to upgrade, I actually said I liked the first round picks, but because I complained about the picks after that. Fortunately, I did my best to keep cool, and brought the conversation back to an intelligent debate. (Though I still got bashed a couple more times late in the day, oh well, what can you do?)

Good thread man, and very much appreciated sentiment!

classy post, me and Royal Tee were discussing as the draft happened how we didnt want Brick at #4 as we had other strategy's.

BUT now that the drama is all said and done im happy. I have maybe 1 or 2 things i wouldve done differently. but im glad the way everything panned out.

wouldve taken Jean Gilles instead of Schlegel. (nothing against Schlegel, he could end up being a vital roleplayer in our D, which is why the pick isnt too bad)

but having Brick/Jean Gilles/and Ferguson on one side would be utterly sick with Jean Gilles making Ferguson's run blocking less of an issue.

overall id give us a A

BUT BACK TO THE POINT OF THE THREAD LOL!!!! I AM COMPLETELY SATSIFIED WITH THIS DRAFT! AND IF YOUR NOT! TOO BAD, CUZ THESE THEORETICAL THREADS HAVE NO MORE MERIT ON WHATS HAPPENING NOW!

    J-E-T-S JETS! JETS JETS!

lets watch what the FO does now and see how things come into shape

We had loads of needs going in and we couldn't get a first round caliber guy in each spot. This will take this year and next year to rebuild the team the way Mangini wants it. Hopefully he's happy with the guys he already has and he'll find something good in the players already here.

Leinert has a weak arm,,, not a Giant Stadium arm,,, I don't know why some of you can't get that through your heads.
