So next year Fant is 30 and does the dirty 30 thing and Becton gets hurt again and how many OT's do the Jets have? This is why good teams take the most talented player they see on their picks and it's why they have more talented players than teams that are trying to fill a need on each pick. The NFL is a an extremely random environment. You lose players suddenly that you thought were going to be there for a decade. Other players decide their wallet is all that matters. Still others turn out to be bad fits in the scheme du jour. If you have 2 26 year old OT's that are durable you pass on the premier tackle but you certainly try to sell the pick to a team that needs him and at a premium. The Jets obviously do not have two guaranteed 2022 tackles right now. 2 of their 3 tackles are 30 or over next year and the young guy has been injured at times during both of his seasons. Definitely take the premier OT if he's there and better than anybody else available. it's not even close on that call.
I would too but having a rookie QB you can attempt to sell your fan base on while you rebuild is something I could see both Detroit and Houston doing. Most likely, Hutchinson and Thibodeaux go 1-2, I just don’t think that’s a forgone conclusion yet.
I could see Detroit having that same thought but I do think it’s most likely right now that Hutchinson and Thibodeaux go 1-2.
If I'm taking a OSU WR In this draft, It's not going to be Jamison Williams. Oh, right, he played for Alabama this year. I'll pass on Stingley as well.. Tired of these one year wonders.
I don't think Stingley is a no brainer--we have decent cb's that we've invested picks and a year of development in. Lots of holes that need filling beside cb.
Starting to get tired of the draft. We have been excited about 11 straight drafts with what to show for it?
of course we will get the #1 pick in the next draft as there is no QB that anyone will give up a load to draft and no 'generational' type prospect - we need to save being abysmal for 2023.
In 11 years, that’s great. It’s the biggest letdown of the football season other then the regular season. The chance to watch 4-5 players get paid well to underperform for us
Would be embarrassing to lose to Jags, but in all honesty it's the best thing that can happen. If we lose out, we are guaranteed a game changing pass rusher. Right now we have really good rotational pass rushers, but we don't have that Mack or Miller type. I think Lawson will be fine, but I don't see special after that major achilles injury. Need to lose out and hope Seattle does the same--
