In answer to your questions... Man oh man... I think we are in for a long offseason of intrigue, gossip and rumors. So any questions you have about anything will have to wait until the spring... I personally think that Mangini was fired because he couldn't work with Bret. Well, WTF. Have you ever had a job where your job depended upon being able to work with someone else who had seniority, or a big reputation, or power? Like maybe their relatives owned the company? So maybe no matter what you did, if the Golden Boy didn't like you, you were toast? Even if the guy who wants you fired sucks at his job??? Welcome to the Real World, Eric Mangini.
Fair enough, I agree with both of you to certain extents, but regardless the move today I think was right, and getting rid of Schotty would be the right move. I don't care who was calling most of the plays, they were very rarely the right ones, and that's all that counts. The he said-he said BS is prob. never going to come to light. Everybody has to be on the right page, and do what's right for the team.
I think a lot of Jets fans' worst nightmares is that Marty becomes our new HC and then he retains his son as his offensive coordinator...
All very true, again my fears are that Woody wants Favre back so bad that Brett will dictate who our next coach will be or he will want to keep Shotty. There is no way I see Favre taking on a new playbook, I'm afraid he is going to hold us back from getting a guy like Cowher or a younger coach like Spags. I just wish they would tell Favre to beat it, from what MR.T said today they are going to go get a coach way before they know if Favre is even coming back. It really makes me think, that he told them who he wants to play for and that's who they are going to get, whether or not it's the best thing for the team after next season. Probably will be Mooch, or maybe even Holmgren but it really sounds like he's going to take the year off, and so does Cowher. Not that I buy into it because if I was wanted I would say I was not coming back yet too, to drum up the offers, but if you take these guys at face value they don't sound like they are coming back this season.
