What's worse is the pass was in a pre-season practice. Not even a pre-season game...... "We talking about practice? Practice? Not a game. Not a game, but practice?"
Yeah, used to be that practice was used to correct problems and fix mistakes. But of course if you're Zach Wilson that's not possible, every snap, every throw, every move MUST be executed flawlessly, and even then, you know what we'd hear is: "Yeah, but it's only in practice".
Idk why it's so bad to critique and criticize a player. It ain't that deep -- it's practice, I get it. He made a shit throw. The issue I have is that there is someone who actually believes that it was the FBs fault and trying to defend the throw which is asinine any which way you slice it.
I agree that the defender's eyes were locked on Zach. I was basing my opinion on the fact that Zach was going through his progressions, and then he quickly turned and threw the ball. I thought that he realized that he had held the ball long enough, maybe too long, and needed to dump it off. The way he threw the ball also looked to me like he was dumping it off, not throwing a pass to a receiver on a route. I've already said that I could be mistaken. It's hilarious that you take such umbrage. You're so anxious to criticize and shit on Zach that you never even considered that it could have been on Bawden. The point on which I will agree that Zach deserves some criticism on the throw. He definitely should have looked before he threw instead of being in the act of throwing as he turned.
What are you even talking about? Last year I defended zach up until he started costing us games. You are just making shit up at this point. It has nothing to do with just shitting on zach b/c I hate the kid. I'm just calling it as I see it.
My apologies. So many people have been shitting on Zach, I thought you did too. I'm not making anything up.
Here are my two cents on the flurry of responses to Zach’s interception and the pro and con view points. Yes it was a bad pass, no question about it. But it has been beaten unmercifully to death by many here as the only indicator that Zach is not improving. That is a massive bunch of nonsense. He has had one great pass after the other in both practice and in preseason and he is showing great progress. Our hero AR threw a bad interception in practice today, this stuff happens. Like it or not, because it does or does not fit your narrative, the kid has improved greatly since AR arrived. I for one is happy that it happened in practice and he will learn from it. Ooops, did I forget that he is not even our starting QB?
Sometimes I think I have somehow become someone who sees the worldnas does the proctologist. I see assholes everywhere
Calling a spade a spade and a stupid pass a stupid pass is not "shitting on" anyone; it's the reality of the situation. All the excuses in the world don't change that.
Please watch Bryce Young so we can shut down this thread about an over drafted 3rd year QB who can’t throw in the pocket underpressure. Only reason he’s here is because JD didn’t move him yet.
we’ll see, he’s not facing starting defenses, blitzes and in most scenarios, like that clip of his INT, he’s not allowed to even get hit. Wilson always looked good in those situations, which is why he was overdrafted. Hard to tell if he’s improved or not
Why not? I'm still shitting on Jets players years removed from Palookaville. Roger Vick! Slowly I turned . . . Who ya got? It's a limitless font.
Let's hope it translates eventually. I don't think I'm alone on this, but Zach Wilson was way too high on himself. Deflecting the blame on the D was a terrible look for example and didn't win him any awards with his teammates. Maybe since being taken down a peg or 10 with a rude awakening that wasn't rude at all all things considered he's open enough mentally to actually learn and produce. Who knows where he's gonna wind up or how. There really is no crystal ball on any of it.
He didn't deflect the blame to the defense, lol. He just refused to say he let the defense down with his pitiful performance. Huge difference. How could you even make a case it was the defense's fault they lost that game?!
Agree with the first paragraph, as to the second, remember last year he didn’t do very well in practice, particularly on short screens, which seemed much improved, albeit with still an occasional OMG.
