As bill parcels said you are what you are. We have 1 win and it doesn't look likely we are going to have many more. So at the end of the season this team will be 1 of the worst record wise. For me this is a low point. I haven't felt this way since 96
I second that. I thought 8-8 would have been an achievement pre season start , but that now looks like a miricle. For me alot of the problems are investing in potential. Obviously no Collegiate player is a lock to make it in the NFL , but instead of finding players that can multi task , find players that are excellent at one , and if they can do other things , bonus. Jack of all trade players don't win Jack
I was about to pose the question of this being the worst thread ever. It could be. But then again the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 BIHW threads are up there.
I wasn't disagreeing with your point. I'm just saying that every single thing you say in every thread, be it about the Jets or a completely stupid topic in Bullshit is just negative, miserable, rain on everyone's happiness shit.
If its possible, this should be considered a pretty good 1-6 team. They have been competitive in every game other than the Pats game.
it's hard not to agree....I think when he says "Worst team" it isn't talent wise..but from ownership to coaches to players... The ownership and coaches...aren't very impressive right now..Mangini is too headstrong...when he hasn't done anything career wise to be as such... Mangini isn't Kotite .....yet
Don't know about the worst Jet team, but it is up there with a bunch others as one of the most disappointing. Best prediction I've heard about the Jets was "batteries not included."
Agreed. And, as Parcells says, you are what you are. That is, the Jets are a 1-6 team (aka: not very good). But there is a continuum of being bad. There are 1-6 teams that are rarely, if ever competitive during games. And then you have the 2007 Jets who have been competitive in all their games except for one. So, as far as 1-6 teams go, they shouldn't be considered the worst.
If you think about 96 being the low point 98 was the high point only 2 years later. It always rains and the sun always comes out.
Rather than add some smart ass pointed remark, here is a brightest mind montage of this thread. Unfortunately, no he probably is at least 5 times that.
If you have watched every game from 1966, you are either senile from old age, or have as serious case of Alzheimers since the Jets have had far worse teams....get a grip
Be patient...the season's not over yet. But the potential does exist for this to be the worst season. And although undesirable, it is probably a record that is a least attainable for this team.
This is one of the worst Jets teams to watch. The coaching has been horrible, and the FO, OC, DC and HC have been fairly clueless this season. Westhoff is the only guy on the sidelines I trust. The reason the Jets have been "in" most of the games this season is because there is NOT a great disparity in talent between teams. The coaches have stunk it up.
For my money the 76 team was the worst. We wonder about players quiting on a team that team had the coach quit on it during the season. He left the team to take the Arkansas job with 1 game remaining to play. What I like about that period is Walt Michaels who I contend was one of the better Jets coaches took 5 years to rebuild the team. Along the way he had two 8 & 8 years which were a huge improvement and than a dip to 4 & 12 before rebounding to a legitimate SB contender in 81 and 82.
