Talk about a useless piece of garbage for information. I would love to know who this quote source is. Those that forgot this was a 3 to 4 year rebuilding plan were very spoiled when this team got to the playoffs last year. If EM were to be fired, trust me, there would be at least a decent line of owners that would want him as their coach..when you look around at the rest of the NFL and see some of the crap that is running teams nowadays. Code of silence? Where does it end. Does the code of silence go for things done only on the field? Or does it include players that beat their wives off the field too. What has the NFL become...the russian mafia? Code of silence...yeah.. team is stealing signs by video taping the coaches of the other team and everyone should just shut up because of a code of silence. This source has seen too many of the Bourne movies.
that was the most ridiculous article I've read in a while..see last year's coach of they year's record and how he's teamed have gotten beaten.
Arrrrhhh, couldn't care less, matey! Some team will hire him if they have to... Let's hope he sticks around for a while...
So you're supposed to let someone get ahead by cheating at your expense? I learned in college how stupid that was, since results are the only thing you are judged by. If you catch someone cheating, you definitely need to take care of it, or you suffer for it. This sounds like the writing of a group of gangsters or something. I'm sure the mob hates cops and would probably try to kill someone that reports it, but the rest of the country applauds anyone busting crime. The NFL isn't the mob. If it was, the NFL would be outing whoever reported Mike Vick. Instead the NFL came down hard on Vick for being a criminal.
LMAO i think every year somebody says we stink and we wont win more then six games...they feel stupid about it almost every year aswell.
First Off Selena Roberts is an idiot. And the "NFL" insider doesn't know what the fuck hes talking about. This is complete crap.
HAHAHAHAHA they quoted Selena Roberts of the New York Times oh man that is way to funny. That bitch has is still missing herm edwards and his "we play to win the game" crap. Thats ok Mangini doesn't have to look for another job he's gonna be here till he wants to leave. Here's the video that BB was filming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tn9jXpxMivY&eurl=http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm Selena Roberts can go F herself since no one else would
Here is selena roberts email address tell that bitch what you think about her attacks on Mangini this isn't the first time F HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! selenasports@nytimes.com
wish I knew how to post a pic of this ugly bitch http://www.nytimes.com/ref/sports/bio-roberts.htmlColumnist Biography: Selena Roberts Selena Roberts became a columnist for The New York Times sports department in October of 2002. She previously served as the Olympic writer for The Times, tennis reporter, general assignment baseball writer and beat reporter for the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets. She joined The Times in 1996 to report on the Nets. Skip to next paragraph Fred R. Conrad/The New York Times Selena Roberts. Prior to joining The Times, Ms. Roberts had served as the Minnesota Vikings beat writer at The Minneapolis Star Tribune since August 1994. There, she wrote daily on the team and also worked on special sports projects during the off-season.
Reality there is a code of silence and it permeates our entire society. Whistle blowers very often are heroic and even though they often bring to light very ugly aspects of our society, the whistle blowers themselves very often are adversely tainted. It wouldn't shock me at all if this affects are ability to hire FA's. How many players will view Mangini as a snitch whether it’s warranted or not? The other reality of this which doesn't bode well for us is a really good team that knows how to block, tackle and execute and has elite talent can give the plays to the other team and still beat them to death. We did a great job of winning last year against pretty mediocre to bad teams by out scheming them. The day we field an elite team we will no longer be trying to fool the opposition, we will run over, through and around them. BB has a reputation of being a brilliant tactician. What he has really done is built a bigger more talented team than every other team in the league and the scheme is highly over rated. I still think he is a complete POS for cheating and the fact that it’s not necessary and he still does it shows what a complete paranoid ass he really is. He clearly has tainted himself and his team but that aside this will rub badly on Mangini and the Jets. It’s certainly not insurmountable and if the team rebounds and wins it probably will all go away very quickly.
i think good, i hope he stays here, gets the right personell for his system and sustains success like bill cohwer did in pittsburgh, i want the same coach for 10 years, that mean stability/success!
Nice avatar HardHitta! Shame that's where it all started to go wrong... If you could hop into a time machine wouldn't you pop back there and tell Mo to ease up a little? (Right after killing Hitler, of course)
The Patriots players are better than the sum of their parts. In NY Bruschi would be an aging ILB and seen as somewhat ineffective. All the DB's that have played in that backfield? Only Law and Samuel and Harrison and Milloy would have been able to crack this backfield and we let Law go even after one middling strong season. Who have the runningbacks been? Antowain Smith (THE Antowain Smith), Kevin Faulk, a Corey Dillon that was of no value in Cincinnati and now a second line prospect in Laurence Maroney who was passed on by 28 other teams. On the offensive line they just as many 1st round picks and UDFA's as the Jets. The people who suggest that Belichik wins because he develops lots of talent are half right. The people who suggest that he wins because his 3-4 defense is among the strongest in the league are half right. The people who suggest that his 6th round QB is the key are half right. But the fact remains that it's the combination of all of the above that makes the Patriots great and Belichik is more responsible for that combination than anybody else.
Of those several things, I've always thought the quarterback part was the most important element. I remember reading a while back that picking Brady in the sixth round came down to a coin flip between picking him and picking Tim Rattay(?). Such a fine line between brilliance and idiocy (which I prove every day).
Yep. He got lucky too. The people who claim he just got lucky are half right. Lots of halfs in there.
Bs Meanwhile, Mangini might have problems keeping the job he currently has. As one league insider opined on Tuesday: "The biggest issue that Mangini faces is that his team absolutely stinks. One of the problems with being a surprise team is that you can't surprise anyone anymore. They won't win more than six games this year. The Ravens tried to hand the game to the Jets after dominating for three quarters and the Jets refused to take it. The offensive line is awful, the defensive line is terrible, the running back is old, the wideouts drop passes, and the secondary is beat up. The Patriots will win that division by five or six games, easy. That, more than anything, is going to put heat on Mangini." What do you think?[/QUOTE] That quote is from an NFL "insider"?! It sounds like the ranting of a pissed off Giant fan after a couple of six packs! While I admit that we're having problems on both lines, the rest of what he said is BS. Sounds more like this is what he wishes the problems were! Nobody with knowledge of the NFl is going to spew this kinda crap.
Just another Pats fan-written article about ratting. It's nice to know they're consistent across the board, at any rate. Florio can blow me.
Almost correct, Tim Rattay was drafted before the Pats had a shot at him, if I remember correctly. Having said that, it has always been my opinon that the quality of coaching a player receives in his frist 2 to 3 years can make or break a player. I think good talent can be ruined with bad coaching, and good talent needs good coaching to blossom. JMO.
