It utterly amazes me anyone gets sucked into an argument with this guy any more. Have fun with him or leave him alone. If he's as old as he says he is, he's approaching senility. I think its more likely he's in the eighth grade, myself.
Not anymore. The patriots are 0-2 in bringing a title to the greater new england area. Therefore all their players are losers and worthless.:gpc: ats_suck:
OK lets see. How about Clement he was a UFA went to all 31 other clubs in the league & was told by every other club you are not a upgrade to anyone we now have on the team. Same exact thing for Baker. Do you consider Barrett & Poteat world beaters?
And that is really what you are spending the dollar for. 1 dollar = a 5 minute escape from reality. Anything else is icing on the cake.
You didn't answer my question. Who should we have brought in? How much would they cost? Would they fit our system? Will they put us over the cap? Point is, you can look at any roster in the league and find room for improvement. A good player thats available may not be a good fit for the schemes run by the coaching staff. Some good players want more money then there worth. Some draft picks don't pan out. You act as if the NFL is a season of Madden, where you can just stack your team in the off season and have a pro bowler at every position.
How about about Mangold, who you labeled as one of our "champ-level" players. He was passed over by 30 other teams in the draft last year who said "you are not a upgrade to anyone we now have on the team". He's now already a top 5 center in the league and he's only going into his second year. What about Rhodes, another potential "champ-player" who was passed over by every team 3 times before finally becoming a Jet. He's a top 3 safety in the AFC at the very least. On top of that, the Adailus Thomas signing by the Pats must have been terrible because only 5 or so other teams were persuing him. Using your logic, 26 teams told Thomas "you are not a upgrade to anyone we now have on the team". By your logic we should have a roster of all #1 overall picks and FAs that were being persued by the other 31 teams in the league before finally signing with us. And guys, we should already give up on the season. I don't know what we're thinking, cheering for our favorite team when we already know that they're going to not win the Super Bowl this year because they're not #1 in talent in the league. I mean, just ask the Patriots in 2001. They weren't the most talented team in the league, and look what happened to them. Oh, wait. I can't even believe I'm getting involved in this, but this logic is driving me up the wall with it's stupidity.
While it's not set in stone yet it does appear that the schedule this year is going to be pretty tought. We have the 4th toughest schedule against pass defense and the 3rd toughest against run defense. The run defenses that we will face is what worries me the most. We already have a hard enough time running as it is. Like I said though, all of this is just offseason speculation and until we actually play the teams we don't really know how tough the schedule really be.
