When you have the roster we have, yeah, injuries matter. Mosley is the key piece to this defense. We do not have a talented enough roster to suffer an injury like his and not see a negative result. Especially when the guy taking his place is also a rookie calling the entire defense
So Mosely being out accounted for a 30 point swing? The bold is an organizational failure from the top down to the coaching staff. Plugging in a sixth round rookie safety to be the defensive play caller at middle linebacker is a joke.
My stance currently is that Saleh should be fired at the end of the season if we don't show a lot of improvement going forward. I'd feel a bit uneasy doing it right now.
No, Mosley being out did not result in a 30 point swing. Mosley being out resulted in a quick 17 point deficit and the rest was a result of coaching failure and an offense that couldn't move the ball anywhere down the field. You're commenting towards me like I'm throwing zero blame at the staff. The staff deserves a ton of blame but I'm also not ignoring the loss of Mosley as part of the result
Whose idea is it that you're griping about? It keeps getting repeated here but I still can't find anybody seriously advocating getting rid of Saleh today, even if NC wanted to fire everybody a few weeks ago but he cooled off in a day or two. Of course Saleh's getting to the end of the year and I believe he's probably safe next year unless the team gets even worse before this year is out or if the bye comes next year and there is no improvement.
I get this. While I disagree with waiting to the end of this season, I get the stance and I don't fault you for it. Again, I don't think we will truly understand how good Saleh can be until Lafleur is let go. It's unfortunate and it could be the death of his coaching career here, but I just think that's the case
The Jets suffered the same quick 17 point deficit the week before with Mosely on the field right before the bye week?
I just watched Saleh's press conference... he was calm & collected with a dash of contrition. His steady hand is notable... but I tend to agree with you we the coaches under him do kinda suck. He's taking full responsibility for the team's awfulness... as he should... but Saleh needs to lean into the team and demand better. Throwing a shit fit in the locker room might do wonders at this point.
No. Not trolling at all. The guys who are complaining about it are guys like you who have stood solidly behind Saleh until now and you're using this idea in your head that a whole bunch of others have been calling for him to be fired. It's a strawman argument. I responded earlier to someone, in another thread I think, who wrote basically the same thing that you did. Somewhere along the way you guys seem to have created in your minds the idea that people who were criticizing anyone was calling for them to be fired. I'll tell you the same thing I told him and that is if so many people were seriously calling for firings after five or six games those posts should be easy to find. He seemed to think that a thread calling for the Jets to draft another quarterback (which can't happen for another six months) is the same as cutting him after six games. I also called for anyone who wanted Saleh or Wilson fired or cut they should step up to make it easier. So far there have been no replies. Do you think all those guys have suddenly gotten shy if they were calling for Saleh or Wilson to be canned?
Again, I never said 54 points was attributed to Mosley being out. But carry on. If that's the argument you want to have and what you gathered from my comments, all power to you
It's not, but you're making him being out to be a bigger deal than it was. If he's on the field, then we lose what? 42-13 instead?
Probably because you're on ignore on a lot of people's accounts. Could likely lead to no one seeing your "call out"
Yeah sure. So, who was it that you were referring to who seriously wants anybody fired now? Where are those posts? And why is it such a problem for you to support the claims about firing people now?
Firing a 1st year coach 6 games in would be total clown shoes. I've been very disappointed with the job this coaching staff has done but you can't fire a guy after six games. I wouldn't fire him at the end of the season unless the players totally quit on him. I also don't see how Saleh can fire or reassign LaFluer after 6 games. Who the hell would ever want to work for this guy if he did that? As bad as the offense has been, LaFluer gets the year. Miami is 1-6. Are they considering firing their HC or their OC? The Fish have been a bigger disappointment that the Jets!
Looks like I might have to eat some crow about Flores being the one Belichick assistant to succeed elsewhere. The Fins show that having a ton of picks means nothing if you don't hit on them.
