They never call holding anymore. Its a league wide thing. Its painful to watch. They allow OLmen to hold all game and then on a kickoff or punt return they immediately throw the holding flag no matter how weak it is to make up for it. Its infuriating.
Along with the other rules that have been subjugated to encourage scoring, this ranks as one of the most onerous. It'd be one thing if it was dealt with evenly, but that is rarely the case. I'm truly saddened by the current state of the game. Now, I admit I'm a crusty old fuck, nostalgic for the ways of the past...but does anyone truly think the game of football is more fun to watch nowadays?
