With the Miami win tonight the Jets move up to #8 pick slot.

The Jets should be in perfect position to pass on some real elite talent.

It’s difficult to wish for your favorite team to lose out as a die hard fan. But damn a top 5 pick and pairing Graham with Williams on the Dline would be beautiful. He can stop the run and plays like someone lit him on fire

Enough D Tackles. The Jets haven't even sniffed the playoffs since they went to this "Get every D lineman in the league" philosophy. It really is such a stupid thing to hang their hat on and the media and others fall for it, hook, line and sinker. It's like bragging about winning the loser's bracket.

The Jets are bragging about having a top 5 or top 10 D every year and meanwhile the team is horrible. It's the height of delusion.

That script has clearly not worked for them. Next.

The Jets are such a loser franchise. They are going to win meaningless games now when the season has been over for a long time now. Forget the odds, the season has been over since October.

Thus continuing the perpetual cycle of sucking. They don't even know how to tank right.

    always have to ask yourself:
"what is the jetsiest thing they can do?"

failing at having a losing season by winning just a few meaningless games is the jetsiest thing

The same thing was said about Quinnen Williams and Leonard Williams. How many playoff appearances have the Jets made since they made those cornerstone picks?

The Jets don't need to draft D tackles in the lottery anymore. That strategy has clearly not worked.

right but you could say the same thing about all the QBs, RBs, WRs, they've drafted in the last 13 years too. That strategy hasn't worked either

True but the difference is the NFL is an Offensive league now and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. The Jets have to get on that bandwagon at some point hopefully.

I disagree with that. For example the KC Chiefs are 9-0, but they have only scored 30 points once all season. And that’s because that game went to overtime.

A lot of talk about Mahomes and Kelce, but they are winning because of their defense right now

Chicken and the egg. You have to prove it first and then you can win in many different ways. The Chiefs built an offensive juggernaut with Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Kelce, Hardman and more. Now going for their 3rd Super Bowl in a row, they have built such a strong unit that they can find other ways to win because it's such a well-oiled, cohesive and well-coached machine.

But make no mistake, if the Chiefs didn't have Mahomes and Kelce we wouldn't be having this convo.

It is an Offensive league and there's no debating that. The Jets don't have the luxury of the Chiefs winning with defense and other ways because they have no Offensive foundation on the team.

You need to build that first before getting cute with all of the highly drafted D lineman who have done nothing to make this team good enough to make the playoffs in 15 years. That has proven to be a losing formula. It's the definition of insanity to keep that same draft room philosophy when it has yielded no tangible results.

The Jets are completely missing the boat and will continue to do so until they build a real offense first.

And that consists of drafting a true, franchise QB. The D lineman early picks have played a large part in handicapping this franchise.

    Also true

A buddy of mine is a Cowboys fan. He was complaining that their season was over only a week after Halloween

I said "As a Jets fan, this is the norm for us!"

They'd do that even if they had the #1 overall pick.

They need to look at QB’s regardless, but they need to bomb next season to get a good one. And they need to give him a good OL. Doesn’t have to be perfect, and he needs to be durable and flexible, but the line is important to establish the run which helps protect the QB.

The QB class this year is weak. If they are drafting a QB this year, it should be one in the 3rd round. If this team somehow tanks to a #1 pick, it could do more harm than good.
