Is it a stretch to call next Sunday at Miami a must win?

Are you about 15? Given your recent thread creation history you sure are drawn to drama and over exaggeration like a kid. We shoul win this game talent level wise, but it's no more a must win than any game at this point in the season. Everyone knew we had a hard early schedule months ago.

We need this game pretty badly with the tough stretch coming up.

Anybody else think we get away with a win against either San Fran or Houston?

Yea I can see it happening. 2 home games. Everyone is took quick to pencil them in as losses. A lot can happen by then. Houston imo is a team we match up pretty well against. Both good defenses but again its tough to win on the road in the nfl and the Jets play well at home.

im not feeling very good about either of those. arguably the best teams in each conference. both very good defenses that can shut down our run and force mistakes. both teams can run it as well and have qbs who can do a bit more then just manage

basically, they are better versions of us.

Yes. Typical Jets would be to lose to Miami but then come back and beat SF.

We can match the WR of both teams. If we score early (which we have done the last 2 games) we can force to pass more and get away from Gore/Foster. Not out of the realm of possibilities.

San Francisco? No. It will be like Baltimore last year. Drink heavily in the lots.

Houston? Maybe. National Primetime game may bring the best out of the team.

Ultimately I think those are back-to-back games we lose, but we'll see.

Game is a must win. At 2-3 you can still make a decent run for 9-7, maybe 10-6. At 1-4 you can kiss the postseason chances goodbye.

It is a must-win, not because of the record or playoff implications, but because of the distractions that will come from losing and the tough matchups following this week.

Every game is a must win! I doubt that Rex Ryan or the players see it any other way. We should wreck Miami. I will be very surprised at anything other than victory. We do have a very difficult stretch up coming. It all revolves around our ability to stop the run and make tackles.

I think (hope?) we walk away with at least one win out of the two. Barring major injuries to either team I think our better shot is Houston but anything can happen, I guess. It's infinitely more likely we lose both than win both though, so, yeah, there's that possibility to worry about.

If we beat the Dolphins and win one of those two games then we'll be 3-2 heading into Indy. That seems like a pretty winnable game as well.

Heading into the bye week I'd be very happy with a 5-3 record (or better, obviously) and pretty satisfied/optimistic with a 4-4 record. If we're 3-5 or worse we still have a shot as we have a relatively easier schedule in the last 8 games but I definitely would not be confident of a playoff chance if we're in that spot.

We can still end the season 10-6 or even 11-5 with losses to both Houston and SF (along with Pitt, twice to NE and another random loss, maybe SD) but at that point all we have really proved is that we can beat a lot of shitty to mediocre teams to get to the playoffs. We really need to come out ahead on some of those games to prove we have a chance to not just make it to the post season but stand a chance of winning it all.

It sucks when you see a team built like sf in such a short time when we have been coming up short. Say what you want but harbaugh gets his guys to play hard.

I would like to see us upset either hou or sf but imo its highly unlikely. They could potentially come in here and dominate. We should be more concerned with miami who will give us all we can handle. We are in no shape or form a contender. Sanchez seems to turtle against strong d's.

Worst case scenario we have to be 3-3 after the Colt game so a Dolphin win and Colts win are a must. If we lose Sunday, the whole thing is gonna blow up

If we're less than 4-4 going going into our bye week then I think we're screwed. If we're 4-4 or 5-3 then I think we'll be in good shape as our last 8 games look a bit easier than our first 8.

If we lose to the Dolphins though it means we'll have to win at least one of the 49ers, Texans or Pats to make it to 4-4 and that is going to be tough, although not impossible like some people are making it out to be.

Yea people are way too quick to chalk up the Pats Houston and SF as losses. I think they are all better teams but no one beats every team they are "supposed" to. Especially at home I think we should be able to beat SF or more likely Houston. If we can't beat any team that is playoff worthy then we are not a good team its as simple as that. I think we are a pretty good team and are more then capable of beating other playoff teams especially at home where we seem to play much better.

Isn't it amazing? we'llhave to play much better than last week but we know this team is capable of it and will hopefully be healthier against those teams. We can lose all 3 and we can win all 3.

Exactly. I think I would be more shocked if we lost all 3 then if we beat SF and Houston at home. They are not these impenetrable forces like they are being made out to be.

The Jets always play well against Schaub and with Revis healthy he plays very well against Andre Johnson. I think if anything it'd be a low scoring game where who makes the biggest mistake loses. Playing at home I have confidence in the Jets.

We looked worse at Pitt then we really are. Some growing pains with a young offense where drops absolutely killed us. Santonio makes a couple more catches and Hill grabs that long one and we put up 20 points. If the Jets stop some 3rd downs and Cro makes that easy play in the EZ like he usually does and its a completely different ballgame.

I know what ifs are dumb but its the kind of things that this team can correct and I think they will. You're never as good as you look after a big win and you're never as bad as you look after a loss.
