Ha... me too. "Mid-life crisis"?.... but everything after "Recipe for Hate" was a bit of a disappointment (lyrics dumbed down for major label audience).. although, I'm digging Greg Graffin redoing the songs accoustically Freshman year of college, we'd be in our dorm wearing out Tecmo Bowl.... and whenever you'd dominate the other guy, I'd immediately press play on the cassette player with "No Control" ready
They're not going to need to worry about handing money to Q if ZW is the guy behind center. He'll just take the 5th year option money and then see how long they want to franchise him for.
I could be wrong, but it seems to me that Mike White, Kirk Cousins, Garoppolo, maybe even Ryan Tannehill are all in a similar boat. All are OK QBs who work well in the short/intermediate game, but need a good oline, decent running game/receivers/TEs, and a stout defense in order to win a lot of regular season games. They all struggle to put the team on their shoulders when their 'team' is not good. All that being said, I'd probably just stick with MW if we can re-sign him to a team friendly deal for 23/24. If Jets make the POs, MW would be a fan fav and would sell a bunch of tics going into '23. How Zack fits into all this is still an enigma.
In answer to the title: no. He’s gonna cost a lot of money to sign, money that should be used to build some depth. Not to mention, he’s not great. He looks better because of the team around him. I want no part of him.
I'm not saying he is going to be elite, but I do have to point out the difference between Mike White and the 3 other QBs you listed is that MW just made his 4th career start, 1st start of the season. Those other 3 guys have played way more games, Jimmy G has 73 Games played, Cousins has 136, and Tannehill has 142 compared to MW's 5 games played; those other 3 guys are a case of "you know what you're getting" while MW is a little more of mystery. He could end up being just an OK QB like you said, he could actually surprise and be more than that, in fact, he could even end up being downright terrible, only time will tell.
Agree... Also Jimmy G being a Ex Pat QB doesn't help. I don't see much talent in Jimmy and why would a team like 49ers want him gone a for a rookie? To me that says a lot. His coaching staff is not satisfied with his play, or not big fans of his personality. So I say we stick with Mike White, and let's see what we have with Wilson in the off season. Heck bring Strevler also. If he and white outperformed Wilson, they deserve to compete to start imo.
Hard to believe the acquisition of Jimmy G would excite anyone. One would think the Jets would get a little more bang for their buck if they were to pursue another QB.
It’s time once again For the Mike White show But no 20 game audition Like someone we know If he fails to prove That he’s been able to grow Back up the Brinks truck To Garoppolo —— Not actually all in on Jimmy G if White doesn’t work out but a compelling argument can be made for that particular move.
And The Man Of Glass is out for the year yet again. I was a hard no on the subject before, now I’m emphatically against this idea
