I don’t get what changed from college with Sauce. He was not a good tackler in college and he’s not the first corner that’s shitty at tackling.

But at least he ankle bit a lot and dove at the legs or put his shoulder into the thigh pads at Cincinnati.

He laid the wood a lot in college but he never bothered actual tackling. Receivers are a lot bigger now.

I have noticed the trend now of every time Sauce gives up a significant gain, he ends up being looked at on the sideline for 3 plays and then he's back in the game.

There was a play where Gardner was on the sideline, faking an injury or something, and the Texans tried that WR screen play that they punked Gardner on multiple times and Echols, his replacement, attacked the WR at the line and laid a nice lick on him

that was nice to see, I hope they are looking at that in film review as a team :)

That is a symptom of "slipitis" and has a long Jets history. It began with first round draft pick Steve Tannen who could normally be found on the twenty holding his ankle every time his man scored a touchdown, most of the time to be back in the game the next series.

Sauce is a good guy and says all the right things etc….someone is going to give him a big bag, just hope it isn’t us.

reminded me too much of CRO
A long CB with little short area quickness who is really suspect in the run game and super handsy in coverage.
He should be able to fetch a 1st and 5th during the off-season.

I’d rather pay G and keep drafting DB’s.

I'd really like to see another game or two without Sauce. He's clearly not up to his standard but curious if we'd notice a big difference with Echols in his place - or even Stiggers, who I'm optimistic about. He's getting ragged on now but maybe he's still doing a good job of preventing many throws from even going his way.

But fact is, can't pay GW, Sauce, Breece and JJ.

And the way Reed is playing now, while older, makes me wary of letting him walk.

There is no urgency to extend Sauce. Given how he is playing now, even considering last two years as 1st team all pro, we might as well let him play his 4th year next year, see how he does. We still have his 5th year. Q had to do it, turned out fine. In other words the decision does not need to be made at the end of the year.

Well, that's one positive that came out from Reddick holdout: others are less likely to repeat this mistake, because it was proven to be extremely dumb.

We’re going to suck terribly and will be in the middle of our next rebuild when Sauce comes due. Given that top tier CB’s rarely stay with one team, and the fact you don’t build around them, Sauce will be gone regardless if you view him as elite or not

I just watched highlights of the game!!! There was a sideline play where the TE ran through Williams and Sauft’s tackle.
After looking closely, Sauft hit Quincy. I was dying laughing because Quincy laid on the turf throwing a temper tantrum after he realized what Sauft just did. Clearly Sauft closed his eyes and hit the wrong person.

I’m not posting this to hype Sauce up, but I just don’t get it. He was a completely willing tackler in college. His attempt at Schultz on the sideline was one of the more pathetic things I’ve ever seen on a football field.
