All you Met fans take youselves too seriously. Look at the stupid question and then the answer was obvious.

And the Jets won the SB in 1969. At least if you are going to dig up ancient history, get it right.

As a mets fans every yeah it seems the yankees come out of the box slowly and the fans freak out and before you know it they are 20 over .500. So I don't think you can make a judgement about this team in such a small sample size. With that being said the concerns I have about this team are that they really are a bunch of high priced pampered stars rather then a bunch of young ball players with chemistry trying to get that elusive first contract. So many of these guys make so much money, what's the difference if they lose? They still get $10 million. You need to have a good mix of guys making the minimum and high priced home grown players. Regardless the Yankees have so much talent they will by right in the thick of things but again a younger team with pitching, defense and decent hitting will get hot and knock them out of the playoffs.

That's true to a point. However, Cano, Cabrerra and half our starters in the last week are all playing for the minimum. The Yankees still have the highest payroll, no doubt, but Boston is only about 30 million behind and the Mets are in third. At least the Yankees get to the playoffs every year (or have). So, the money isn't totally wasted as it is in some cities.

Ancient history is 1969 and 1986, we have won Championships in recent history and in a 3 year stretch from '98-'00 we have more titles than the Mets in their entire 40+ year history.

The Yankees have won no championships in the last 6 years. Thats recent history. Please don't talk about the last century, the 1900s.

Well, they won in 2000. Technically the last century but not the 1900s. And oh, wasn't that against the Mets? maybe I'm wrong.

And the Mets haven't won a title in 21 years, what is your point? The Yankees have a Championship this decade, have 3 last decade while you have to go back 2 deades tofind a Mets Championship- 1 of 2 in their glorious history which is why every Mets classic on SNY is a game from 1986.

Junc. Have you ever considered seeing a psychiatrist? I do read all your threads for fun. Why do you feel you need to win all your arguments? I see Alio and Don and others beat your ass all the time in arguments but you continue on and on. Anyway have a nice day. Also glad to see you watch SNY.
PS. Who really cares besides Yankee fans that they won a world series in 2000. They also lost more than any other team since then.

Yes, they did. At least they were in them to lose. I'm sure any other team in baseball would trade places with them in a minute.

Awww, trying to pile on others who dislike me- that's cute but show me where I am wrong? show me where those 2 "beat my ass" in our arguments? I have torn through those weak arguments w/ ease. They aren't even challenging much like you who hasn't brought anything to the board besides whining about the Yankees.

Aww, junc, I don't dislike you, so you're wrong again.

I just feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I beat you in arguments. Though you're making it far too easy if Mets fans are saying it now.

If JoeJet agrees w/ what you say then you know you've lost. Same goes for Shade since Shade just likes to pour gas on the fire and he tries to rile me up.

Ok lets get back to the topic of the thread. This absolutely could be the year the Yanks implode and fall out of the race quickly. You guys better hope a young pitcher or two steps up or it could get ugly.

Or we could just go out and buy a couple, starting with Clemens, I guess.

(BTW, that was meant to sound arrogant for all you Yankee haters. Not how I really feel)
