I'm more concerned with the coaching staff than Sanchez.

Having that mid season slump (IMO) ironically helped the CS and Sanchez. The CS had a wake up call about how much they could throw in, and Sanchez has now experienced both the heady heights and the extreme lows, without getting blasted by Jets fans and the press.
Now in Off season, we have had a great overachieving season which leaves (for once) a good taste in the mouth.

maybe there will be a day when Sanchez can lead a top 10 offense with a top 5 defense.

    that will be the year.

In time my friends, in time.

Marino never went that far as a rookie.

Big Ben lost in the AFC C game as a rookie, yet has 2 rings.

Ben also had a team built like the Jets.

    all true.

That defense had a better core of LBers.

This team need someone equal or better to Pace's abilities. Thomas is not a liability, but he's not making a true impact.

Gholston can go fuck himself. Gotta draft a guy that Rex wants, because he'll be a beast.

    Don't be.

They've showed they can get better and they have.

This team needs a veteran backup QB though. That's the only thing they are missing. Someone to continue to help Sanchez grow and learn.

I agree about the veteran QB, but we do have other needs.

I have faith, I really do. We beat ourselves too many times this year. I'm sick of analyzing the Colts game, but I thought we didn't adjust well on either side of the ball once Manning started picking us apart.

I think we need a quality backup qb as well, but not to mentor Sanchez. He's doing pretty good...

Jeff Garcia is a gamer, and is available, let's grab him.

The Jets with two Mexican American quarterbacks? Wouldn't be bad, I like Garcia.

Eh, I'm fine with Sanchez learning from Cavanaugh and Schottenheimer while Ainge takes the #2 reps. If Sanchez goes down at least we have someone with better pocket presence than Clemens who can hand the ball off to one of three running backs behind a great offensive just as good if not better than Browning Nagle 2.0.

Doubt it. He has said he wants to start in '10, and also that he didn't appreciate the way the Jets handled him when they released him.

    Possible Chad destinations/results:

San Francisco - Competes with Alex Smith, beats out Shaun Hill
Denver - Beats out Neck Beard
    Seattle - Loses to Hasselbeck
    Washington - Mentors Bradford/Clausen

Agreed. If the CS wants someone with experience then Garcia is probably going to be available by week 3 anyway.

So Mark will also piss off teammates with his attention whoring and throw ill-advised passes in the clutch that lead to game-ending interceptions? No thanks.

But seriously, Sanchez proved something in the playoffs. He handled himself with great poise and came into his own as a leader out there. It all finally came together at the right time. Those two touchdown passes against the Colts were beautiful?a deep ball with precision and a perfect dart under extreme pressure.
