I agree with this completely, maybe even a 4th rounder, all these people saying the Jets need to give up the 29 or heck even someone said next year's first (just fire everyone if that happens) are crazy. If N.O. doesn't make a trade, they pick the same guy at 2 that they'll pick at 4 AND pay him more AND have no extra picks, the Jets would have to be idiots to give up 29 or 35.

    Really?
Why..do you know something we don't?

I have seen NO indication from the FRONT OFFICE whether we will trade up...stay at #4..or trade down.

All I have seen is a ton of speculation and opinions on message boards. I think they are great and a fun way to keep involved.

But in NO WAY do these speculations make a move up to #2 likely.

So please share with us why you think this is likely to happen.

you may be right about the press but this is what the N.O. gm should do, have a press conf and explain in excruciating detail the following:

We picked at 4, we got M Williams (or Hawk or Brick), we will pay him #4 money and we got an extra 4th round pick....

If we had not made that trade (and by the way we had no other offers that allowed us to get Mario (or Hawk or Brick)), we would have drafted the same guy at 2, paid him more money, had no extra 4th rounder, but at least we would have saved face and you guys (the press) wouldn't say we got robbed.

Thats why I'm a GM and you're the press.

i'm def for trading down a few spots but dont use it on a DT. I would rather draft a DT at 29 someone like watson

if we trade down it will be to the 9-12 spot to take cutler... there is no other player that we could get at a later spot that would be worth passing up D'Brick, Mario, or any other player availible at the #4 spot

Like you said this is purely speculation. It's no surprise that N.O. wants to move down and so far the only team that i keep hearing wants to move up is the jets. Whether or not it will happen I don't know but I wouldn't be shocked if it does. I have been saying all along that we shouldn't move up but when I read that N.O. wants to trade down and the lowest they will trade down to is the 4 spot it doesn't take a genious to realize that it's a possibility we may end up with leinart.

Its possible we may move up..its possible we may move down..its possible we stay where we are.

Nothing makes it LIKELY we will move up to #2. (Unless you know Sowell train's source  )
