I see, you not confused on the system, but your now questioning the QB. Why not just say what you mean instead of being a prick and dropping a one liner that is completely off point?

Great move by Holmes and Idzik. Holmes, when he shows up, is a great WR. Frees up cap space to be used where we need it elsewhere.

Would like to know what the new terms are, and how it affects 2014 if at all.

So was there any truth to the Jets being interested in Gibson, Braylon, Massaquoi, or was that just the Jets leaking interest while threatening to cut Holmes so he knew we weren't bluffing? Holmes didn't suddenly become a take one for the team type of guy.
    If so, well played Idzik.

i am sure santonio didnt give up any guaranteed money and probably guaranteed some more for his good deed.

restructures scare me, they push the problem further into the future. i would rather deal with things as quickly as possible rather than letting them linger like a wet fart.

i am interested to see what the restructure looks like, the jets needed to free up space somewhere but i am worried that the price is more years of a degraded santonio holmes on a guaranteed contract.

I heard on 98.5 Sports Hub in Boston that Holmes dropped around $3mil (which was not guaranteed) and it was a legit pay cut.....where as Cro was a restructure and isn't losing any money overall.

the point here is that despite the supposed take on Holmes being a malcontent, he agreed to restructure his deal. I am not the least bit shocked here, since I never thought he was a malcontent. He just didn't like playing with a crap Qb. I wouldn't either if I was him.

Looks like between the cuts (most expected) and the Cro and Holmes restructure we have room to work this year. Cro freed up some notable cap space and Holmes space is still TBD but could likely equate to a player.

OMG Holmes is such a selfish player!!! He only cares about himself, what a bad team mate, restructuring his contract to help the team in a tough spot. What a prick!!!!!!!

Holmes is still getting paid more than he would've commanded on the open market. It was win-win for both parties.

I'm not a Holmes hater but he hardly forfeited giant piles of money for the better of the team. He's getting the same amount or more that he was guaranteed and his contract stated that if he was cut he could still not make more than the $7.5mil the Jets were paying him.

So there's literally no downside to Holmes doing this at all. That's good that he wasn't a dick just to be a dick but it hardly pushes him into sainthood territory.

    Like edge said: win-win.

If Holmes earned on the field what he is being paid there would be no discussion of restructuring. He doesn't.
