Coples and Devito could probably start on NE too. Our D is clearly way more talent than theirs. I would do anything for their TEs and QB. Having our own starting TE back will help a lot.
Miami and Buffalo are not that weak. There are no "gimme's" in the NFL. Miami was the 3rd best run D last year and they improved since then. If you think the Pats are going to win the East with an 8-8 record you are in need of some serious drug rehab. Junc with the voice of reason on this argument
The Fins have a good defense. Don't let their record fool you. They were 3rd best Run D last year and they improved the Lines. Same goes for OLine. Miami is strong in the trenches, much like Buff. Or at least I think so. Why let it go - it holds more weight than the regular season since we are evaluating talent during those "rigorous" 4 weeks!
If Buffalo beats New England, then it will be interesting. As of now I'm sticking with New England at 11-5, 10-6 at the absolute worst, the Jets at 7-9 or 8-8, Buffalo the same and Miami, who cares.
Sorry. We've been on the losing side of too many games like yesterday. No apologies. Every team has lousy performances. The fact that we looked so bad yet still pulled out a tough divisional game on the road against our fiercest rival is all good. Jets will get Keller/Conner/Hill back into the offensive mix. Time for larger roles for Ellis, Coples,Mauga & Davis. We start fresh at home against the Niners come Sunday. We start fresh in FIRST PLACE of our division
If Bush stayed in the game the Jets would have lost. They're going to get run over a lot this season.
Bush was hurting us but they only scored 10 pts, we can play the what if game all day. if revis doesn't get hurt does Miami tie the game? if Hill could catch would we have needed OT? if they made the right call ont he Fasano incompletion and the bogus false start that ended up w/ a Miami TD and removing a TD from us would we have needed OT?
I blame our demise on McElroy. had he not fucked up that Eagles game our whole outlook would be much better.
Yep. The run D is just not coherent, which is not surprising given they are transitioning from a 3-4 to a 4-3. It always takes a year or two to make that transition well even if you get the right guys in to do it. Mo Wilk and Coples are going to be very good 4-3 tackles once the Jets find the ends to go alongside of them. They'll have a real MLB behind them also instead of the 3-4 ILB's they have now. Harris is probably going to be the strongside backer.
What exactly does bringing up some extremely hypothetical situation like this resolve? That, according to your personal opinion, the team doesn't have a lot of talent? Really? I think we already knew that. You've been bitching and complaining about the Jets all off season and all regular season so far. Every single thing is complaint with you, and virtually every post turns into a tirade on Tanny, or Rex or whoever else the hot name is on the block. Why can't you just buckle your seat belt and enjoy the ride? Is the Jets season rollercoaster anything new to you or something? How many years have you been following this team? Your evaluation of our talent is obviously lower than most others, in fact it is unrealistically low. I really don't need to hear this crap over and over and over again. It just gets old. Guess what? Any given Sunday! Guess what? The Jets are in 1st. Guess what? They can beat the Niners....unless of course you think the Vikings are more talented than the Jets and therefor the Jets don't stand a chance?
Unless the Jets make considerable improvements on defense it's going to be scary rematching both BUF and MIA.
