wow... i actually like you POV in most cases, but what are you attempting to do here?? i never said i would, i just pointed out that it would make me well liked here in contrast to TBJ's threads on punting...do you have a problem with me not sharing my knowledge in a place that has as many rotten eggs as it does good ones?
The thing about Gonzalez is that when people talk about him, they dont talk about his speed, they talk about his route running. So the fact that hes as fast as he apparently is, says a lot about how polished his game is. Every time I watched an Ohio State game the last two years, Gonzalez showed up more consistently than Ginn. Ginn might be more likely to break the huge plays, but thats a lot less valuable to me, especially in light of the fact that Gonzalez has the speed to do it if he were used in that role. Ive posted on here before that this is a player that Id love to see the Jets get, but at the time, I was thinking he was a second or third rounder. If he can run even mid 4.3, hell go bottom to mid first, and even if the Jets dont end up trading their first round pick, they likely would be unwilling to use that pick on a receiver, so I guess it probably wont happen. Still, if the Jets were to end up drafting Gonzalez, thatd be one position we wouldnt have to worry about for a long, long time. Coles is a top level receiver and should be for a couple years still, and I dont see Cotchery leaving the team any time soon. Add Gonzalez and youve got one of the stronger groups of recievers in the country. And as for the negativity on this board, you hang around for a bit and you learn to just tune it out and read only the posts that are in some way constructive. The offseason typically is easier to deal with than the actual season, typically in weeks when the Jets lose, but youve still usually gotta deal with some BS.
