What stars? That's the first I'm hearing this. The 49ers offense has been far from stacked. We arent talking about the KC Chiefs here, the 49er weapons are on par with our Jets. Deebo Samuel had a good year in 2022, but Garappolo getting him the ball was a big part of that. Is Samuel more talented that Elijah Moore? I dont know, and I love Samuel from back in his SC days. Moore runs open and his QB can't get him the ball.
I think everyone, even the sunniest of sunshiners agrees we don't have a playoff team in 2022. That would mean 4 straight years without making the playoffs, at least 2 of them last place finishes, during a stretch where the NFL expanded the playoffs to make it even easier. If Douglas gets his 5th year after that, the Jets are a very patient franchise
I guess each of us has expectations, but making the playoffs next year isn't one of mine. However, improvement is. The Jets can conceivably go 9-8, even 8-9 which is essentially .500 in this new schedule, and still not make the playoffs and I would be happy with that. It all depends on Zach. As he goes, so go the Jets.
You don’t think George Kittle and Trent Williams are stars? Deebo “had a good year?” He was an All Pro man. He led the league in yards per reception and you and I both know that’s not because he was catching bombs.
Not to change the subject but for Zach Wilson the Jets need receivers that catch bombs. Giving an inaccurate QB without touch guys who make YAC is just irresponsible use of resources. Hopefully Joe Douglas understands this and we don't wind up with a bunch of guys who catch balls underneath and then turn them into big gainers. Those guys would be great with Mike White throwing them the ball but they are going to be wasted on Zach Wilson.
I forgot Kittle played there cause he’s hurt so much. Between him and Garappolo both getting hurt all the time, how many games have they even played together

Aside from the obvious things that went/were wrong and were lacking last season on the field the seeming disorganization at times is what concerned me the most. Agreed that it is a learning curve for sure. Not hanging up the cleats on Saleh just yet, and yeah, keep LeFluer up there, thanks. I'm not sure who else's decision other than Saleh's that would have been, but I hope you're right that he pushed for it. This fan base makes me laugh sometimes, though. What's another year or three seeing as the Jets haven't won anything since 69 A.D. No, wait, 68 A.D. It goes by the season.
If it was 69 A.D. I'd remember the Super Bowl win. Was too busy taking a victory lap with my Amazing Mets to watch football yet.
69. One of the best years on record for performance. championship jets, Mets, allmost Knicks, Man on moon, all of which saved John Lindsay's job as Mayor. Only the yanks and rangers disappointed. So the big question, who has been the biggest disappointment the last 10 years, jets, knicks, mets, yanks, rangers, NY politicians or NASA?
With the Jets, I didn't expect much from them these past 10 years. When you're disappointed every year you become numb to it. For me, it was the Mets, and I'm not saying it because I'm a fan. When they had that amazin' season in 2015 with those 4 young pitchers all throwing in the high 90's, it seemed a dynasty was coming, and then it all fell apart. When you are taken to the heights of expectation, then thrown off the cliff, that's disappointing.
Jets, Giants and Knicks I’d say, although Knicks showing some recent progress, unlike the football teams who have been perennial bottom 5-10, out of contention in Sept. pretty sure the Giants have been the worst team in league over last 5 (unless Jax passed them this year).
Oh yeah, i forgot about the Giants. Yup. But personally I choose NASA. 50 years later and they still have a very late timetable for a repeat. Without private enterprise , space exploration would be lost. Many people don't understand that without the space race, the modern world of technology would not be as it is today.
I hope you’re joking. Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk are all better than anyone on the Jets. Moore can get there but isn’t proven.
All sins forgiven from the 2020 draft for sure... JD's learning curve just got flatter. He seems a lot more comfortable going into the draft this year as he's winning on all his trades. Good that he's growing into the job.
If this year's class shows something when the games count, I'll be fully convinced the 2020 haul was influenced by Gase and Co.
