The "assplay" actually highlights Sanchez's biggest problems. He turned the wrong way on the handoff (how you do that in a one back system is kind of beyond me), realizing his mistakes he panics and runs straight towards the O-line (and the teeth of the defense) while carrying the ball loosley in one arm and not watching where he's running...no field awareness, no ball protection, no thought process. Just panic mode like a deer in the headlights. If he's thinking he runs left or right turning it in to a bootleg, and if nothing else once he's outside the pocket he throws the ball away. BUTT NO (spelling intended) instead he doesnt' protect the ball and runs right in to the line.. But, there is a plus side to the ASSplay. Somewhere there is a comedian crafting a joke about about Sanchez trying to break in to the hole...
lol he looks like he is being chased by a pitbull and he has a blind fold on before he hits the ass head on
Gotta admit even though the Jets season pretty much ended yesterday this still cracks me up. With Rex the Jets will always know how to command attention.
That wasn't even close to a prevent defense. The majority of the yards Sanchez got came on 15+ yard passes. Either way he still sucked between the INT and the most laughable fumble I've ever seen.
yea, the pats were still coming after us they wanted to embarrass us really bad and we showed some grits after that quarter last night
Ya, I honestly thought Belichick was going to run the score up to 70. Wouldn't blame him if he did, but I was prepared to see it.
Mark actually played well in the 2nd half of the game, making some nice throws and doing some nice things. Pretty clear the coaching staff doesn't entirely trust him with some of the play calls, but he hasn't exactly earned their trust. The fumble was kind of a fluke play, but it's still one he can't let happen. Protect the ball, look where you're going, anything is better than what happened there. The idea that this game was entirely Mark's fault is ridiculous though. This was a whole team meltdown. Defense allowed 35 points and special teams was a disaster, just like it has been all year. Mark is absolutely one of the biggest problems on the Jets, but he's far from the only one. Much easier to blame one guy though. Right, Wayne Hunter?
I agree most laughable fumble. As far as most pathetic fumble i've ever seen, i'm torn between this one and Holmes throwing the ball to the 49ers. Both in one season, both by the players who most signify what is wrong with this team.
On the bright side, Sanchez starting next year virtually guarantees a top-3 pick in 2014. Anybody think the Skins gave up too much for RG3?
I definitely can't argue that. I said it another thread, there is no fear of losing his job via being cut or even benched. In my mind that breeds complacency and often mediocrity.
