Mark Sanchez called INT in 3rd qtr a "pretty unlucky play." ... But it was just poor execution. Poorly thrown pass off back foot on screen

For his career (56 gms... excluding 1 game when he played 1 series), Mark Sanchez has a 50% or lower completion rate once every 4 games #nyj

    Manish Mehta ‏@MMehtaNYDN
Jets QB Mark Sanchez has had more TDs than turnovers in fewer than half his games (45%) in his career. #nyj

    ^^^^^^^

I used to like Manish... Weird.

I'm not even mad at this team anymore, I'm mad about how the media is trying to spin everything and make the team I love look like the biggest circus act that is out there today. It's a fucking joke.

The announcers were retarded in that last game. "Why not play Tebow here, down 27-0?" Because he's not our starting QB, nor is he as good. We didn't bring him in to put a smile on cornball announcers faces and start a controversy. They are soooo desperate for one they will say anything detrimental to Sanchez.

The saddest thing about all this is that Sanchez probably will take the fall for all of this, end up traded to another team next year and he will break out instantly. In reality it's his lack of weapons that's doing him in. We're relying on mostly rookies and 2nd year guys in the WR core, mediocre line, and mediocre running game. If he gets us a win in Houston, this game will be a distant memory. It's not just his fault though, as convinced as everyone on this site seems to be. Like I said, if we had Keller none of this would even be an issue. If we lost Holmes for the year, however our season is done unless magic happens and several young guys start playing like all pros.

Does anybody have stats on Jets turnover? I feel like the Jets have the highest turnover of anyone in the NFL. Every year it seems we have to let good players go. I'm not talking about turnovers as in giving the ball to the other team, I'm talking about personnel turnover from year to year. Like why couldn't they keep a set of receivers to mold with Sanchez instead of it being drastically different every year. Keller is Mark's #1 target and he's barely played a down this year.

A large percentage of teams would go to their backup in that spot to protect their starter from injury. The Jets can't because if Tebow did make a play, there would be a riot if he didn't start the next week.

they weren't retarded. I think the idea of not continuing to play Sanchez was a good thought. Although yes, the ramifications of bringing in Tebow would have been far greater since he's obviously not a traditional backup in any sense.

The Jets could have brought in McElroy, but then that would have opened up a can of worms all on its own.

At what point do we have to ask, "what the hell is tebow here for?". If he's not a backup who we can bring into a game, and we wont let him pass from his package, then what the hell is he here for?

Note that I'm submitting these tweets without opinion.

    Rich Cimini ‏@RichCimini
Sanchez completing only 50.9 pct of passes on throws 5 yds or fewer, per @ESPNStatsInfo. Non-statistical analysis: That stinks. #Jets

Sanchez doesn't love football and it shows. #Jets

We did let him pass from the package yesterday and look what happened.

LOL at all these alleged fans hunting for negative tweets. I know hate drives your lives, but give it a rest. Anyways I'm outta this dump. I'll be back when people calm down, probably after next game lol.

The man gets paid to elevate the play of those aronud him and he can not do it! He gets paid to win and he is not doing it. Just how long should we keep him as our QB? Its better to be a JETS fan then to be just a Sanchez fan.

Agreed with the OP. He is getting too much of the blame. However, it also looks like Sanchez realizes he has nothing around him and is putting in less effort than usual.

I think Sanchez had his moments but in general he's just a good-average QB BUT he had NOTHING to work with on Sunday.

Sanchez was absolutely terrible yesterday, and i've seen enough patterns in his play that are red flags.

    1) He does not protect the football at all. 2 weeks in a row, 2 turnovers in scoring position. There were a ton of those last year as well. When you do not have a dynamic offense, you can't make stupid turnovers. See SF turnover ration, and subsequent success. 2 hands on the ball!!!!

    2) Accuracy is inconsistent at best. When receivers are open, and he has time, passes are high or behind way too often. That leads to incompletions, or prevents RAC as receivers need to adjust to the ball rather than catching on the fly.

    3) Communication is way off between him and receivers. i credit a good part of that to the receivers, especially Holmes who never seems to be ready for a hot pass. Its still concerning though.

    4) When playing a physical team, he folds up too often. Either turtles immediately under pressure, or does something stupid. See point 1. Not enough improvisation or extention of play under pressure. When was last time we beat a team with physical pressure oriented defense?

They were not quite as bad as the Sanchez lovers here. You put in a backup QB when things are gtoing bad to prevent the starter from losing his confidence any more then he already has!

Because you are a Sanchize apologist , does that mean we NEVER should relieve him if he keeps underperforming?
