Why fire him...I say promote him to special teams...that was the best damn special teams-like tackle we had all game....WTF?????
You're supposed to cover a field with a tarp when it rains, you're not supposed to interfere with a player. Even-Steven.
I don't think he'll get fired. He will probably be warned to not do it again. I mean, it wasn't like he was the only guy on the line. Everyone else was very close to the line.
Fine and at least a suspension. Coaches and FO personnel are going to be held to a higher standard than the players if it follows the Lewand DUI.
Why? He certainly doesn't get paid as much as a player. He's not a head coach or even a coordinator, so he's hardly the face of the franchise. As for your question, yes.
We need to add this to the TGG Commandments, right after Thou shalt not call another poster's home. Thou shalt not stick out thy knee.
I'm impressed with the outrage from the Jets' fans over this cheap shot. You guys are showing a lot of class by not siding with him just because he's a Jet. Well the majority of you anyway.
This is one of the most humiliating things that I have ever seen someone from an organization do. And this goes back to the philosophy that Rex Ryan preaches. I am embarrased to be a Jets fan right now. No excuse for this.
Coaches are paid for there brains. Anyone with a brain knows it's completely out of line for a coach to "attack" a player. He's not supposed to be involved with the play of the game at any time outside of telling players what to do. I can't believe you think this is somehow OK.
“I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for. I spoke to Coach Sparano and Nolan Carroll to apologize before they took off. I have also apologized to Woody [Johnson], Mike [Tannebaum and Rex [Ryan.] I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/12/12/sal-alosi-apologizes-will-accept-any-punishment/ ^^ And there you have it. For the guy who started the thread and those who agreed. I hope you feel dumb
lol, the guy was way out of bounds, I'm sorry. If the coach stuck his foot onto the field of play that was one thing but his foot was behind the white area. People are acting like this was Woody Hayes punching out that Clemson player on the sidelines in a bowl game.
Well there you have it. He didn't "attack" anybody. But He did try to trip the opposing player. He should be suspended immediately.
To you Jet fans that realize that this is a disgusting act: Good for you. It's nice to see fans be able to detach themselves from the love of their team and see a dickhead move for what it is. For the rest of you: It's pretty sad. You bring up the Dolphin player running out of bounds, as if he got what he deserved. One act is part of the game (even if it's penalty worthy). The other is the intentional injuring of an opposing player by a member of the staff. Are you kidding me? And also, what most of you are calling a trip is really a knee to the thigh. I hate the Jets more than most things in life, but if someone on our sideline interfered with one of your players, I would be outraged.
