My critique (part one) after my first glance:

Banner ad at top of site violates rule #1 of web design, the visitor must always know whose site it is IMMEDIATELY. So seeing a advertiser's logo, instead of the Jets logo first is a mistake.

The 2nd tier of navigation appears too slowly... nobody browses a website slow enough where it would make it convenient that it takes as long as it does for the horizontal pop-up menu to appear when you rollover the primary navigation buttons.

The articles are presented in a 2-column grid. The right column contains the back half of the article, but presents is on the page ABOVE the headline. This is a huge NO-NO in design.

Its cute that we have a bunch of logos that we use all over the place, BUT I think if we had one GOOD logo - as opposed to a bunch of mediocre ones - then we would not do such a thing as its not healthy for the brand. Our logo needs to be re-designed if its not good enough to endure a couple of years without management introducing supplemental iconography to compensate for the actual team logo's shortcomings.

BTW I am an art director & web designer, not just an over opinionated fan (well I am that too!) Despite my observations I do think this is HUGE improvement.

I just clicked on every other NFL team website on nfl.com... and its official... The NYJ website is by far the most unprofessional looking site in the NFL.

the entire home page is advertisements. The Jets can't even get a web site correct.

That website is pretty lame. Hopefully it will get better during the season.

its about time, at least it looks a bit more current with the times, the ad section is ridiculous though, its silly and unprofessional of an NFL teams home site to have an ad section that massive right at the top of the page (i can understand having some ads and am fine with that, but make them more discreet and smaller, even if it means a little less money)

still probably behind most other teams sites though...

So they basically upgraded from the 19th Century to the 20th Century. Still gotta climb another step on the ladder.

If they wanna base their homepage on something, let it be the Redskins. Their football personnel department is piss poor, but they have a marketing department to die for.

Another site engulfed in flash. I hate having to keep around a 32-bit browser.

    Been posted...

And if the Jets take a QB in round one and your done, than thats a good thing. Why would anyone quit a team if they took a position of need?
