I am not rooting for a bad game, but the problem is, let's say the Jets win and Pennington has a good game, than he will undoubtedly start again. I am rather certain that give Pennington 16 starts, he can have 1 or 2 good games. at this point, though, continuing to start him in hopes he has 1 good game is not worth the 3 losses per victory. why Mangini thinks that is an acceptable ratio is beyond me.
I always root for the Jets to win... but I just can't bare watching Chad QB anymore, it's painful. Cotch and Coles are getting themselves killed, and ultimately, Chad can't make the plays when it counts. I love Chad for what he's gone through, but it's over. Sadly, I was hoping prior to that game he'd be so awful they'd switch him at halftime. Our defense and special teams each put up a score and we lost, while our offense gave the Giants one, and still, Chad plays. We made an interception just before half with like 23 seconds to play and ran out the clock, I thought that showed how much confidence they have in Chad rather than chance even getting a closer FG (47 yards, despite a TO left). I'm amazed Mangini has been this stubborn and conservative. It was so like, Herm... Watching KC once he got into the groove was exciting, and as far down as we were we weren't out. If Chad gets behind by multiple scores, it's over.
When the Jets win a game, I love it. No matter what. I am a Jet fan. It is one thing to be looking forward to a QB change. It is quite another to hope for the Jets to lose games in order to prove your point. You call yourself a fan?
...and this is all I'm saying, but JetBlue articulates it very well here. It's time for change because we all know that even if Chad turns it around on Sunday, its fools gold. The following week he'll make a weak armed 10 yard out interception that a cornerback jumps because he is not in the least bit scared about Penny beating him deep. Another bad week against the Eagles however, and the coaches/front office are less likely to buy the fools gold routine. If another bad week helps this organization turn the corner and start fresh at the QB position, than I'm for another bad week.
I could see that happening. You guys have a real good shot against the Eagles. At least you know Akers won't be making any field goals in the Meadowlands.
You are going to root for the Jets to lose games because you THINK (none of you know for sure) that Kellen Clemens is better than Chad Pennington. With fans like you, who needs Miami. By the way, anyone see Favre "dinking and dunking" all over the field on Sunday? Also how about Romo's 5 (5!) Interceptions? Some of you people disgust me. Hey I think it that it should be time to see what we have in Kellen Clemens too, but I will NEVER EVER root for the Jets to lose a game. Hey if Chad wins games for us, then I am going to be supporting him and the Jets. PERIOD! When he losses his starting Job, I will support who ever is behind center after that. I may even be a bit frustrated that the coach has not decided to give Kellen a shot at this point or maybe soon, but rooting for the team to lose? Come on! You can do better than that. Yuk, this thread sucks.
Yeah, but both Favre's and Romo's teams are on the better side of 500. When you are winning you find fewer people bitching. I can't see how you can compare Chad to either of those QB's this season, much less the teams to ours.
I think the record should show that, on the original post I made to start this thread, that I asked for one more bad day for Pennington, several picks, etc. I did not say I'm rooting for my team to lose. I think the Jets organization needs a cool shower of reality about Chad and one more performance like Buffalo and the Giants just might make it happen.
I think the People that want a bad day want Chad to be ineffective in a 0-0 score at halftime. Mangini will pull him for Clemens in the second half and the rest will be history.
Jetzz, your point is what? I am not saying that Chad should be treated like Favre, not even close. But rooting for a Jets lose for game 5 is absured. Plain and simple.
People are rooting for the Jets to win with Clemens. The longer Chad stays the worse the future looks for the team. We do not want to continue to prolong the inevitable.
Yeah, exactly. Rooting for Chad to do bad to prove your point. Seriously? Thats your rationalization? You want Chad to throw some more picks? Man, what exactly happend to Jet fans? Chad has two bad games and you would rather him throw picks and the team risk losing the game for an unrpoven rookie with "an arm" to have a shot at starting. I just don't see the rational here. You want to prove your point so bad that you are going to root against your team winning games. That is what I see here. How about we just get it over with and start rooting for the Pats?
At this point we want whatever is necessary to get him out of there so we can move forward. The Chad lynch mob hurts more than his supporters because we came to the reality a long time ago that he was done. We die a slow death every sunday!
There is not point to prove. I really don't think a true Jet fan would get joy out of saying I was right Chad really is bad Ha-Ha! Watching him is painful for us. We want our team to win and we feel he is a big part of what can be fixed now.
Give me a break. Chad has done nothing but win games and drive us to the post season multiple times for the most part. There are MANY strong armed QBs that have never even sniffed at the post season in the NFL. He does not deserve this type of BS at all. Chad has done a great job for us when he was not injured right up until the last two games. The last two games are deffinately suspect and his arm does look as though it is done. But It is not known for sure just yet. But one thing is for sure, he does not deserve this crap. Thats for sure. He has not played all that bad just yet. I too think that it may be time for a switch, but winning games is winning games. He loses games, then I am going to be 100% down with making a switch. But rooting for him to perform poorly is an entirly different thing.
Yes I guess most likely since before the season started & they took such a poll I would suspect that over 90% responding would have favored CP over KC making the flip flop quite dramatic in only 35 some odd days!
