    Addai

Has anyone considered Addai at #35?
I think that's a great pick if you get say Mario and McNeil in first round.
Mangold will prob be there at that pick too though.

Barring D'Angelo Williams falling into their laps at #29 (or Addai falling to round 3) for me the answer is 2007. I'm personally not a fan of Lendale (conditioning/work ethic) or Maroney (wonder if he was a product of his O-Line)

With Curtis, Blaylock, and Houston the Jets have enough depth that IMO adding a 3rd/4th round level RB such as Calhoun, Drew, etc. is a waste. Considering Houston was viewed as a 2nd/3rd round prospect before the thyroid condition I think his potential is just as good as those type of RB's.

I like Addai, just not enough to take him at #35. I'd love a Mario/McNeil 1st rounder. However with the needs this team has I'd take an interior lineman (Mangold, Davin Joseph) or an edge passrusher at OLB (Lawson, Carpenter, Wimbley) before Addai.

If DeAngelo is there at 29, or White or Maroney is there at 35, you grab them and run. I might take one of the latter 2 at 29, too, depending on who is there.

I agree. If Lawson, Wimbley were available I'd go with them. I'd also be inclined to grab Mangold or Jean-Gilles if available. If those guys were gone, I'd take a hard look at Addai. He's a decent value at 35, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if he went end of first round. Steelers and Colts have worked him out recently.

there's actually a guy i really like in the 5th/6th round area. Maybe even last pick of 3rd if I were GM: Andre Hall. In that same range I also like Wali Lundy. Both are quick, agile backs who can catch the ball.

With the new CBA, they could cut him now and count him as a 6/1 casualty if they wanted. You can do that with 2 players.

With that said, we'd take on a 1.92M cap hit in 2007 if we cut him after 6/1 or treated it like a 6/1 cut, while we'd only save 585K this year, which we do not need.

why everyone on this board is giving up on Blaylock is beyond me! He's not going to be the 3rd stringer, and he's a VERY GOOD back. He got injured EARLY last yr, and you guys give up already.

There is NO WAY you draft an RB in day 1 this year. I picked "not at all", but anything in the 4-7 wouldn't kill me, because it's kind of like stabbing in the dark in those rounds anyway.

Well, if being injured is a sign of age then Pennington must be 90 years old. Seriously the guy had 1 bad season and he's done for, after rushing for almost 1700 yards the year before. And hell, for having bone fragments scattered throughout his knee I'd say he did a good job... considering his age.

Drew in the 3rd for me, maybe with our comp or earlier, he would complement Houston well
