I agree......the Jet's were close to drafting Johnson, he went 1 pick ahead of us.....we drafted D-ROB. If the Texan's took Robertson, the Jets were certain to take AJ.

Watching Fitzgerald this postseason has made a strong impression on me, I feel like Im watching Michael Jordan playing football (Boldin, of course, is Scotty). Hard to say you want a wideout when you've got no QB, but this guys one hell of a player, I think most QBs would look pretty damn good with Fitzgerald running down the field.

I would place a call to the NFL's on-call voodoo witch doctor and have him bring Sean Taylor back from the dead. He would pair up with Kerry Rhodes to be the best duo of safeties EVAR.

Drew Brees, Nnamdi Asomugha, Demarcus Ware; in that order.

Ew. If were to get a qb it should be Rivers or Brees noone else imo. We don't need a rb

Rivers was my third choice behind Johnson and Fitz.
Edit: I'd be just as happy with Nnamdi Asomugha

Ed Reed would be the guy no doubt but guys like Patrick Willis and Jon Beason are alo very good LBs that nobody talks about. I can't hate Bryan Thomas for the Jets blunder but I can hate Spermway for another 1st round draft blunder.

If I was going QB I like Cutler..... intelligent and is able to get the ball to all his weapons plus he is a real shit talker.

Agree. I'd take Peyton Manning. Before the injury, I'd have said Tom Brady. Will have to see what happens when he comes back.

Drew Brees would be sweet, too.

I'd be tempted to take one of the young QBs like Mat Ryan, but I figure with Peyton, you get one of the best now and probably another several years. I assume Ryan will go on to have a fine career, but with Peyton, you know almost for sure you'll get several awesome years now.

I'd definitely go QB, especially for the Jets, but it I was taking another position, I might go with Fitz, Calvin Johnson, maybe Adrian Peterson. One of those young studs at WR or RB. But if I could just take one, it would have to be the stud QB.

Yea man i would take Brees over Phillip Rivers anyday aswell as about 10 other QB's before him, I just dont like the guy and i think he's a bit overated. If i could pick one guy an considering we lack that Big playmaking receiver i would have to go with Larry Fitzgerald.

Why are there so many people not picking quarterbacks?

Choosing a WR over a franchise quarterback is utter insanity.

i'm gonna go with the win now philosophy and say Peyton Manning.

reason is that assuming we had a good defensive coordinator (which hopefully we know will, and we know the HC is a defense guy), i still take the view that the 08 Jets were easily good enough to go deep in the playoffs if we had a good QB too. we have a great RB in Jones and while they're not spectacular, our WRs could get the job done.

Jesus Christ, people. Do you know how often a wide receiver touches the ball per game? 10 times maybe, if he has a great day?

It's got to be a quarterback. Matt Ryan or Jay Cutler.

And enough with you "I want to slob Fitzy's knob" people. The Michael Jordan of the NFL?! The man catches a football. He does it well, I'll admit, as well or better than anyone else in the NFL this season, but he just catches a football. I hope everyone is ready to fellate this guy next season when Matt Leinart is throwing picks to a triple-covered wide out.

Ditto Andre Johnson, you easily-led lemmings. 8 touchdowns from the second best wide out in the league this year? That ties a career high for him.

If you were going to take a wide receiver, you'd be drunk to not take Calvin Johnson. 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns in his first two seasons, with superstars like Jon Kitna, Daunte Culpepper and Dan Orlovsky throwing to him. Too bad the national sports media is too addicted to the "The Lions are Terrible!" narrative to admit that the best wide receiver in the league plays for Detroit. (Props to Kevin Smith while we're on the subject; nobody mentioned that poor bastard's name once this season: 1,200+ yards from scrimmage, 8 TD's and a 4.1 YPC average, but shhh... "The Lions Are Terrible!" Mark Schlereth said so!!!)

Gotta be a QB and I'd take Roethlisberger over anybody else at this point if I was looking for a 3 to 7 year window.
