Trade down to 9 and get a 2nd rounder...

    9--Vernon Davis
    29-Nick Mangold
    34-Max Jean-Gilles
    41-Joseph Addai
    3rd-Andrew Whitworth

...please do not trade up. I know some people really want Leinart and I can understand why, but I just have a bad feeling about moving up and giving away picks for him. If he is there at 4, take him, but no trade up...

agreed. the last thing we need is another noodle-armed qb. keep leinhart off the jets and save picks instead of trading them just to move up for a guy we do not need.:)

Matt Leinart is not a noddle armed QB...in fact far from it.

Watch some of his game film and you might be suprised some of the zip he can put on a ball and the tremendous deep ball he has...

Jets fans are the only ones calling him a noodle arm...

If we sign Runyan or a FA OL:
    Trade up to get Leinart

    If we don't:
Get Mario at 4 and Mangold at 29

Yeah, but why would I have his picture up if I didn't think he could be a franchise QB?

I have watched games and film on him. If you pop in the tape you will see his arm is NOT weak. He is a gamer, tremendously accurate, pretty tough considering he wasn't hit too much, and CAN throw under pressure...I have seen it.

On the other hand, Runyan would be a great compliment to D'Brick and a great set of bookends.

One problem: with a switch to 3-4 defense, we already have enough DEs. Hawk, I can see as maybe a bit of a reach at #4, but LBs are more useful than DEs to us right now. On the other hand, if Mario is that much better, I'll live with it.

But I still agree with D'brick and Mangold in the 1st.

41 is a reach if we trade down.

    #9: Manny Lawson
    #29: Nick Mangold
    #35: Max Jean-Gilles
    #41: Gabe Watson
    3rd round: Andrew Whitworth

It's a tough call. At #29, I'd definitely go with Mangold. At #35, I'd go with the best OT available (McNeill, Scott, O'Callaghan). Of course there remains much to be said at the CB depth available in this range.

I'm torn over which direction I'd like to go at #4. Part of me would like to get our QB of the future, while another part of me feels we should hold on to some cap room and make a run at Chris Simms next year. If we go with the existing QBs or Simms, then we should probably add a playmaker like Vernon Davis. Mario Williams is extremely intriguing, but I'm content with a rotation of Ellis, Kimo, and Thomas at DE for the next couple of years.

The fact that it's so hard to decide thrills me. It means Tangini are making the right FA decisions. We're looking to adequately fill all our holes through FA, allowing us to go with the best player available come draft time.

I guess you like Manny Lawson to be last years Demarcus Ware?

Depending on what unfolds, I would take 1 of the 3 QB at 4 or Mario Williams. I predict we will take Hawk at 4. Mangini is a Parcells/Bellichek disciple. Both of Parcells SB teams and Bellichek 3 SB teams had defenses built around the LB positions. Mangini will take Hawk and build the Jets SB team around Hawk and Vilma.

Yes, except Lawson is a much better athlete, and has better lateral movement than Ware.

Assuming the Jets sign either Jon Runyan or Andre Dyson (and no trades)

    4. Mario Williams
    29. Manny Lawson (might need to trade up from 29 though)
    35. Antonio Cromartie or Ryan O'Callaghan
