I'd deal for him on a reclamation price in a heartbeat. 3rd/4th rounder or thereabouts. I'd have strong reservations about paying a price that indicated a level of strong future commitment to him.
There was a thread somewhere just have to search for it. I would definitely take RGIII for what he is worth.. Which right now isn't very much. They have too much invested in him to dump him for nothing. We should not trade any picks round 1-4 for him IMO
Bc rg3 blatantly sucks...Geno still have a glimmer of hope about him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wait whut? I'm not a fan of RG3 but he is a superior player to Geno. He's a 64% completion guy, 40 TDs to 23 INTs, a 90+ QB rating. Those numbers dwarf Geno's. Even if you take out his superb rookie season, his numbers STILL are much better than Geno's. _
That is one factor. But I wouldn't even want to give up a 4th for an injury prone, run first QB, who at this point of his career is living off his name and draft position. At the very least Geno, as much as I think he sucks, isn't necessarily a finished product. RG3 is a complete finished product, which at best is average.
Yeah that's definitely not fair. RG3 isn't exactly an idiot either. I'd give up a third for him, but that's all. A month ago, I could probably be convinced of a second, but we're low on draft picks atm. Don't want to give up high value ones.
The biggest issue with RG3--from what I can discern from folks down in Wash--is that he's actually not very smart and has difficulty reading defenses. Not as bad as Geno, but he struggles at the football IQ part and they're not sure he'll ever get it. But he's twice the physical talent Geno is (save the injuries) so I think you could fashion an offense around him. _
I would trade for him..... I think a new environment and maybe a coach who is on his side, could be the thing that turns Griffin around. It's obvious that Gruden doesn't care for him and vice versa. If the Redskins do draft Mariota, they can't really ask for much. They'd be stuck with an unhappy player as well too much money in the QB position. Besides I don't think either one of these players ae the type that coach can bring off the bench. At most, a fourth or fifth pick. I think Griffin is better than Geno and would be a much more dynamic presence in the backfield.
The injury concerns throw me off though. If 16 games were guaranteed then yes Id say lets get RG3. But if 16 games were guaranteed the Redskins wouldnt be looking to get rid of him either.
RG3 is only successful when running an option which defenses have solved. as a passer when asked to play purely in the pocket, his mechanics, footwork etc are a disaster area. I like the idea of him, but in reality he's not a good quarterback. the option brought defenders into the box, kept defenses off balance, and allowed him to also successfully run.
