i dont think i've argued against myself....im speaking of coverage schemes and what points in games we tend to blitz besides the obvious 3rd and long
IF does not mean the same thing as WHEN...and the only reason the IF is being brought up is because of the potential WC matchup the next week and the distinct possibility of playing backups...also the bengals going really basic would probably lead to a lead as well. you can order your ring and hat if you'd like though....and i'll tell you what if they win it all i'll send you a check for the expense
if the jets are playing backups then you don't think there is a chance they go up big? and if so the question is valid no? i also don't think there's over confidence at all since the results of the poll show the answer NO is dominating
I'm just afraid we are gonna be vanilla from the beginning. However I have a feeling this game will be like the green bay game in 02. I say pound the ball all game until the clock hits 0. Mostly because I don't want our league best defense on the field when it counts. Is that bad? I guess its part of being a jets fan.
If going up too big is the problem, we should throw in some double reverses. I'm still concerned about just being up at the end of the game. Second stringers get paid to play too and don't get many opportunities to prove themselves.
i was actually thinking earlier that I'd be a little worried of LJ getting a ton of carries....he has something to prove and this is his chance to showcase himself....he's going against the top defense on prime time television to close it out.
No we keep scoring. I have seen this team choke way to many times to see it happen again would kill me.
Why would we open up our playbook against the Bengals next week if we're going to be playing them the week after?
I'm not 100% either way. As Jets fan we know no lead is safe. I will never be sure until the clock hits zero. As a defense, I say yeah lighten up the schemes and run a basic defense if we can do it. On offense, run the ball with Shonne Greene and Woodhead. Let Thomas Jones get a break.
Yea, but the offense has won mostly when the offense runs more than Sanchez passes. If we stick to that formula and build a lead, why would we do anything different. Aside from a few more Brad Smith wildcat plays, I really cannot see us doing anything that Cincinnati hasn't seen on tape.
It's not a gimme, but we're 10 point favorites for a reason. I think that's a little high even if the Bengals do rest their starters (which they should), but if we lose this game, it will be a disaster.
There's absolutely no reason to hand a 5'7 120 pound childlike running back the ball. The coaching staff should activate Chauncey Washington for this game and give him at least 5 carries.
the only way we go up that big is with a defensive/special team score and a couple of turnovers. in that case, run, run, run. phil simms used to say that if you get one first down, you can run 5 minutes off the clock. that's all we need to do.
