We're biased here in Pittsburgh but we live and die off our defense...It's been that way since the Steel Curtain Dynasty. You guys have some good RB's and a good O-Line in development. You guys have just as much talent at WR as the Steelers ever did even more so I would argue so year...other than probably drafting another QB and don't be shocked if Cowher took Pat White from WVU....you could be looking at a strong D draft. Not sure what is going to be available in free agency. I think James Harrison is becoming a free agent soon and the Steelers already have Timmons and Woodley ready to go...so they might not overpay for Harrison.
Alright now, do you mean conservative more in terms of style or in decision-making? If you mean a conservative style, as in ground game/ball control/high-% passing, I think that would be fine, even preferable since we are a northeast team. Or do you mean always punt on fourth-and-one, play for field position, take the three points and play defense, that kind of thing?
He played for field position....didn't take many chances downfield in the air attack...get up by 10 points and sit on the lead with a big bad D leading the way. Cowher only lost ONE game in which he had a lead of ten points or more... One....
Let me say that only included the regular season. I think they may have blown another game once in the playoffs.
Well I've always liked Cowher, and he seems to be the only true fit out there based on how this team is configured today. SteelCurtain I found the stat you were referring to, this is pretty amazing: "As of the end of the 2005 normal season, Cowher has boasted a 102-1-1 record he has when up by 11 or more points at any moment in a game."
