Is this common knowledge? Did he fail some LB wonderlic test or something? What sample of games in which he played LB predominantly are you using to come up with this hypothesis?

his biggest complaint is the double-dumbway-standard. they wouldn't sign him long-term due to injury issues, yet showered ol noodle arm with $64 million based on about 6 games. noodle collected over $20 million while playing less than abe. and, the fact is other teams will gameplan/worry more about abe than noodle.

While I may not agree with the stance Abraham has taken in the situation i find it funny that on one hand people feel as if he should have accepted the same money Shaun while on the other hand he's worth more than a 2nd rd pick from the Falcons. If we are going to say that he is a "premier pass rusher" worth, at least, a first rounder then how can we possibly have expected him to take Ellis money? Is Ellis worth "at least" a first rounder himself? Do we have TWO of the top five DE's in the NFL on our time? It's weird that players get so much praise when you're trying to get the most for them but are villified when they seek the most for themselves.

    Actually, Yes.

Shaun Ellis' deal is worth $33 million for six years. He got close to $15 million in guaranteed money. That is what Abraham is looking for NOW. Ellis signed it 2 years ago. Elllis made 8 mil last year, Abe 6.6. Abe will make 8 this year.

Simply, If the NYJ wanted to keep Abe at any cost, they could do a 5 year deal right now. They are already committed to 8 Mil for a year, throwing in 7 more guaranteed, and extending the deal for 5 years, giving abraham in effect
21 mil in cash, over 6 years (counting last year), dropping his cap number to 4 or 5 mil, and locking him up for the rest of his carreer would be very easy.

It is starting to look like the Front Office, is trying to screw Abrahams agents.

They have been coaching him that he is worth much more than he is, and eventually, when he has to eat crow, and play in green, he isnt going to be angry at the Jets, but rather at his Agents.

New york is just going to have to bite the bullet and take less then whats expected. If we cant get a first for him, then what ? Seriously whats going to happen , keep him for the 8 million while he plays like a piece of shii because hes not the richest de in history. Screw abe. All he cares about is money .

....and to add to that, After his DWI's he was never treated as an outcast or problem child and when the media attacked (To Herms Credit) He was protected and the situation was diffused.
    That seems to be forgotten.

If Abe stayed with the Jets I would hate for him to have a sub par season especially in a 3-4 (my opinion he can't drop back in coverage). All this would do is add another candle to blow out and make him less desireable. We need to make a deal this year.

    It's not a double standard:

    Chad and Abe both get hurt a lot;

the difference is, Chad has put his health and career on the line by playing hurt, and injured (and playing pretty well I might add), while Sulky sits on the sidelines.

That's why Chad got the money. If Vagina had pulled the tampon out and suited up vs. the Chargers and Steelers, I think the Jets would've done the deal.

Bottom line, unless we get the deal we want, don't trade him, make him play.

Especially considering that was exactly why he told his friends he was dissapointed with the organization, which eventually spiraled out of control to become the situation it is today. THANKS MEDIA OUTLETS!

It's always an option, and it seems more likely to happen every day that passes. The more he talks to other teams, the more they seem to shy away from him. Teams are definitely balking at the money he wants.

We can sign him for the 8M. It sucks that this is what we have to pay him, but it could have been structured more viably had we just done it in the first place. Not to mention, we wouldn't have wasted the franchise tag on him.

We aren't getting equal value for him at this point. Maybe if the Schaub deal comes through, along with the second round pick, otherwise, I think we may just see JAbe here next year.

Money heals many a wound. Just sign him and let's get past this already.

I just dont feel a team that is re-building should have a player that doesnt really want to be here plus main priority is getting money. I think that the players on this team should only have a team first mentality and trust me thats not one of Abes qualities.
