Not the point at all. Everyone knows this team will suck next year. However you don't completely neglect the offensive side of the ball when that's the biggest area of need. Don't expect the offense to be totally fixed in 2014 based on what you saw in last night's draft.
Take it for what it's worth. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/no_green_envy_NVEK7uXXcHR7Q16WK4OFAL?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Jets
“I know John. John would not not include the head coach,” Tannenbaum said. A double negative? Talk about being overly careful in what you say. Just come out and say that you think John WILL include the head coach.
It's really ridiculous to think Idzik is planning anything concerning Ryan before the season starts. He took the best players on their board at the time, it happens they were defensive. If they picked one spot earlier on their first and one spot earlier on their second they would have had Austin and Warmack and this thread wouldn't even exist..get over it.
the two guys were two of the highest rated players in this draft - who was the "Warren Sapp" of offense that you feel we passed on? I could understand people going nuts if we left Andrew Luck or AJ Green on the board to take Richardson but we didn't - there wasn't a single offense option that would have made sense at that spot.
i do not get you at all. They picked BPA, which they said they would. The BPA they picked was more or less in tune with most experts, so no major surprise there either. You do not agree with BPA, but would instead reach for needs which is another strategy, fair enough, i for one doesn't agree. But why this : they have no clue shit?
With most experts? Are you listening to the experts who cover the Jets today? They NEED offense. Eifert would've been a great upgrade and a perfect weapon for Morningwheg's offense. Almost every expert today is saying that the Jets botched their first round. By the way, Sheldon Richardson wasn't even the best d lineman on the board so he's not BPA as you say. Star or Floyd were both rated higher than Richardson. Yet this all belies the bigger point, they need Offense. You can't win games without it and they will continue to suck on offense. The team's biggest needs were Offense and Pass rusher. They failed on both by passing on Eifert and Jarvis Jones. The last thing the Jets needed was another Interior D Lineman.
46. Richardson is a one gap player with good speed. Rex is going to run more 46. The major flaw in that defense is covering the deep middle, but with so manyteams (ahem...Pats...cough...cough) playing small ball it plays right into what they want to do. Youve got a young QB in Tannehill, Kevin Kolb...and The Pats. Secondarily, he likes to rotate DL players, and now we wont be trotting out 30 year old legs. Be nice to get off the field on 3rd down.
Based on the pick, apparently that was the case. You mention getting off the field on 3rd down would be nice. Actually it really won't matter because the Jets O will be coming off the field after 3 and outs more than their defense will be causing them. The 13th pick was a waste not a need.
If they traded down and got him fine. But with guys like Vaccarro and Jones still available, I don't like it. I easily would've been excited about Milliner/Vaccarro and the company line of "no one player is going to replace Revis but we just got the two best defensive backs in the draft and we're going to be better by committee.
