Mercilessly bashed? I wanted them to spend money wisely, not blindly. I personally didn't like Samuel, but many others did...but don't divulge that information to the public who may not know this because that would add to what I said instead of exaggerating it. Once we actually did spend, I tried to figure out what we spent them on. It's not like I was like "ZOMG Faneca, Jenkins, and Pace are going to be great." If you actually read my posts, instead of "routinely skipping" them, I'd come off as far from a homer. These moves had a rational that worked and could be easily explained to fans who wanted to hear the explanations. You call that homerism, I call it doing my homework as a fan. Theres a million reasons I liked these moves: We had the money. We had the cap space. They won't kill us in the long run. They upgrade us in the short term. Jenkins was a move I didn't like until I watched whatever I could find on him. Once I heard him talk, saw him play, saw his raw size, and realized this guy is only 28...suddenly I liked the move. Once I found out Pace's contract wasn't nearly as bad as reported, plus just how much he was asked to do within the Cardinals system...suddenly it doesn't look so bad. Faneca I didn't like before FA and even now I'm more optimistic because he's a (at the worst) solid veteran with a long track record in the middle of two very talented young players. He can do his job which'll allow D'Brick and Mangold to do theirs...therefore improving our O-line. It's not exactly like I've been dickriding these signings...it's just fairly obvious they significantly upgrade this team.
With Jenkins eating up defenders in the middle, harris, gholston, pace and thomas will be able to roam around making plays. Finally mangini has the personell to run the 3-4
