I gave him a 25% chance of making it through camp, But before he even touches the field? this is even surprising for me.

It will make it harder to cut Sanchez unless they find another pickup...and I doubt he wants to carry the clipboard all year.

Sanchez won't be getting cut. He's clearly the 2nd best Qb we have at the very least.

wow, i know he is injury prone.....but it's May!

this is definitely not a good thing for Smith or the Jets.

That is sad news. The possibility of seeing buttfumble under center. UGGGHHH.

    Go Geno!!!!!!

Damn, my original hope was that Sanchez & Garrard compete for the starting gig & Geno sits for the season or at least the first few games. So Jets now have two options: Go back to Sanchez or once again start Rookie QB as soon as he's drafted.

Sad but true. We better brace ourselves for a loooooooooong season.
Looks like we could very well be back in the "hide your own quarterback" business. Completely unwatchable.

He will if Smith is the starter..the Jets would be crazy to allow the circus of keeping him.

    You're right.

I think the buffet budget goes against the cap.

The Jets can't afford to feed him.

Fellas, I understand that Garrard provided depth and a possible starter for the 2013 campaign which is a "building year". However, did anyone see Garrard being a long term solution? No. I see this as a positive, Geno can now get more reps, reps that he desperately needs with this complicated offense. Have these two compete at the highest level and if they win the job, good for them. I think Sanchez will shut up a lot of haters if he comes out and does a great job, and if he does not do that... you will see Geno under center the rest of the year. Geno had his foot in the door of the starting QB job, now he has a whole leg. I am rooting for this kid, giving Garrard reps would only set him back IMO.

Dang it. That's some bad luck. I really wanted to see what he was made of. Now we just have Sanchez - McElroy & Geno Smith competing. Hopefully it will work out, but I don't see McElroy having a chance. It will be Mark or Geno on day 1, guaranteed. Hopefully Geno, but I don't mind him playing a year as backup to learn the system before being thrown to the wolves.

:rofl2: ooooh....how cam you assume Garrard will be hurt....

    Common. Fucking. Sense.

Jets should still keep Garrard imo, to tutor Geno. Sanchez has been healthy for four years.
