Murrell2878: if you got pissed off every time we loss, i understand. I get upset to, what i am trying to do is point out that it isn't the end of the season if we loss to the Saints.

If I was the coach would I say this to the team. No. I'm simply stating that a loss isn't the end of the season. There isn't just black and white, this is a grey area. Some of you need to come out of your shells and realize that no NFL team will ever go undefeated again, and each week and how you practice determines how you play. After the big win against the Pats we practiced like shit, because we weren't focused. So what I am saying is if we need to loss in order to refocus so be it.

I get the point you're getting across.

If the Jets are to lose in the next 5 games, this is the one because the next 5 games are against teams with losing records and division opponents. And if the Jets lose to any of those teams this place will meltdown.

shit, the Jets better get their loss out of the way now, because if they lose to Miami of Buffalo - people might kill themselves.

I don't hope for a loss but this would be the week to lose with the Ravens/Pats and Bills/Fins playing this week. Yeah I'm thinking the Ravens and the Fins will both win. Just for the record the JETS will win.

I'm not hoping for a loss either, I just want our team to be refocused. and i don't see that happening without one. So this is the week to do it if we have to.

I always worry about the outcome after the game is played.

Let's play the game first before we start assessing the ramifications of a fucking loss.....Jesus....this board never ceases to amaze me.

I predicted the Jets would win 4 games this year, and none of the first 4. I'd still have been pissed off and throwing things every Sunday had that actually happened.

F losing. Only losers accept losing.

Well surely this wouldn't be the worst loss in the world. A tough NFC team, on the road, great passing offense with two of our top three cornerbacks injured... however, a loss is a loss. But if we were to lose, I'd like it to be road games against NFC teams. This way it doesn't hurt our tiebreaker stuff.

we're not going undefeated but why does the loss need to be this week? if you're asking if i a rather lose now or @ NE i'm picking now! if we somehow did win it's not crazy to envision 9-0.

    @ MIA
    vs BUF
    @ OAK
    vs MIA
    bye
    vs JAX

Before the season we looked at those games as 5 winnable games that we will need to feast on after a slow start. Now we have a chance to feast and put ourselves into a great position to be 7-2(minimum) or better.

Slim to none? It's that type of sentiment that has people bashing the OP.

If the Jets get past the Saints, they won't be playing a team with a winning record until 11/20 when we play the Patriots. We could be going into that game 9-0 barring any major injuries.

I'll say the chances are slim of going undefeated, but none? F that.

No more losing atitude. You play each game to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is not to say you can't be beaten, but you walk off the field knowing that you gave it everything you had.

No more playing not to lose....................I have watched that garbage for way too long. This year's aura is contagious and welcomed.

    Go Rex's Army!!!!!!!!!!!!!! J- E-T-S WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

We all hope the Jets win on Sunday, if everyone could get past the superfan mentality my post and the OPs post make complete sense. If we were going to lose one of these next 6 games then this is the game that will hurt the least. Because it will have no effect on our playoff chances or playoff seeding . We are all rooting for 19-0 but being realistic we know that is not going to happen.

Considering there have been exactly ZERO teams in history to go 19-0 I think it is safe to say that their is a slim to none chance that this Jets team breaks that trend.

I don't need the Jets to go undefeated, I just need them to win 3 games in a row in late January into February.

Wins now are just as important as wins in December. They all count the same. Every loss could be the one that knocks you out of the playoffs. To say it is "ok" to lose is saying it is ok to just miss out on the playoffs in December.

Actually this statement is untrue. Wins against the AFC are more important then wins against the NFC.

Yes in terms of divisional tie breakers, but overall 10-6 beats 9-7 regardless of what teams you beat.

Going undefeated would be amazing, but lets be realistic. With a rookie QB, it's probably not going to happen. I salivate at the thought of getting a bye. We have a good team. That should be our goal right now (after winning the division, of course). 2 games away from the Super Bowl, with at least one of those games at home.

Well, I meant to specify undefeated during the regular season. But as Jets fan I am sure you would say we have no chance of doing that either. Only the Pats are allowed to do that.

We are currently undefeated. Until that changes, the goal should be to go undefeated.
