The offensive playcalling was great today.

1st half minus last 2 minutes, Mangini >>> Belicheat. Every one of us figured we would run it down their throat and we game out passing. Revis and Rhodes erasing Moss in the 1st half was brilliant.

Then the CS brain fart happens and they decide to NOT let f'ing Gaffney beat us. FFS let them try to beat us with Gaffney! That was a horrid half time adjustment by the D, and the ensuing prevent was equally vile.

We won, yes. Thank you Favre and Keller.

Now, ya'll need to understand that the Pats had a vote in this thing, too. Second half adjustments are what Bill Bellichick's reputation has been built with.

Mayo made 20 tackles. He's a rookie and he's playing like a veteran, that GA young'un, Guyton, I think his name was, was all over the place.

Gentlemen, this was a heavyweight fight, and the Pats don't get sussed about anything or anybody.

The NYJs made fewer mistakes than did the Pats this time. What a difference -- turnabout is fair play.

The NYJ DL held their running game mostly harmless. The NYJ OL got TJ 104 yards against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

I would also call your attention to a very telling fact about this game:

During the first half, the Pats had the ball for MORE minutes than did the NYJs.

At the end of the game, the NYJ had a 38:30 bulge over the Pats' 21:30 time of possession, overall.

What does this mean -- the NYJs OWNED the second half, even though they did not score as many points as the Pats in the 3rd and 4th Qtr, we owned the play clock.

This was strategy, man, pure and simple.

Brett Favre also played one of the best games I've ever seen a quarterback play.

What a brilliant chess match between two heavyweights that certainly didn't like each other.

For me this has been the best game of the year so far.

    And the NYJs won it!!!

    Great post.

It's conservative as fuck, but sometimes you have to play conservative in football.
