My bad. I read F Miami's first line to mean he was wrong about Chad coming back to play QB. To me, that means an entire season or at least the majority of a season. Especially with Chad's history of unfortunate events..

Whether he lasts the whole season or not is besides the point. He's proven he can come back and be an effective QB, even after the surgeries. He's thrown as many 300+yd games this season as he has entire career. That's enough for me.

He's going to be riding the bench...and won't get off until Chad either gets injured or retires. I mean let's face it...Clemens never would've been drafted if Chad wasn't coming back from something no one has ever come back from. It was never a question of Chad's talent, but it was the medical side of things. Now that he's done it, Clemens is going to be holding the clipboard for a very long time (like I said barring serious injury).

I disagree. Whether he last the whole season or not is precisely the point. A comeback is longer than 1/8th of a season. What if he has two under 200yd games? Will you discount those or judge Chad on his entire body of work?

As far as his 300yd+ games, do you remember who his OC was? I'm sure if it were anyone else but Hackett, Chad could have put up much gaudier numbers and plenty more 300yd+ games. Chad had Hackett. Now he has Schotts who is much more pass oriented than Hackett ever was so of course his numbers will be better. Factor in the lack of a plausible running game and its a slam dunk on the passing stats..

Look, I'm not knocking the 2-300yd games, I'm knocking a premature judgement on a player with a history of getting seriously injured for a variety of reasons. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

At least it used to be that way..

You're right that he would have more passing yards because of the lack of running game, but his completion percentage is the same as it has been for his whole career. So it's not like he's coming out throwing 50 passes for 300+ like Farve or Manning

You're missing what I'm saying. I said he was done, that he'd be ineffective and wouldn't be able to come back and play at all because of the shoulder surgeries. You can't deny that he's looked good the past couple of games. He hasn't been lobbing the ball and has been putting the ball right on the money. His completion percentage is just as high as it was before the surgeries and he's throwing for a lot of yards. Granted, he's got a couple of big plays that he can credit his recievers for, but he has been effective, and that's more than I thought he'd be able to do. That's all I'm saying. His durability is still in question, for sure, but he looks a hell of a lot better than he did last year at this time.

And why am I not entitled to my own opinion? I wasn't bashing yours. I was just clarifying mine. No need for smarmy comments.

I don't remember the last Jets QB that put it up 50 times? Was it O'Brien in the shootout? Vinny in the Miracle?

Anyway, His completion percentage and by extension, his accuracy, has never been the question. His durability is another matter entirely. I want to see Chad finally play an entire season start to finish. Missing a game or two is ok. Miss the season again and yeah, the whispers will start up as well they should. Those are the demons Chad needs to exorcise. He's beat the odds so far so lets see how it plays out in '06. There are QB's that beat their injury-prone reps early on and went on to have great careers in the NFL. Maybe Chad will be the next one.

Time has a way of bringing things into focus.. That's why I'm in the wait and see mode...

this makes no sense. Please stop.

On another note it really is something to see some of these fairweather fans. If you can go back in time and see the amount of chad avatars in around may/june compared to now. Wow. Its good that some people can admit they were wrong.

Me personally I never gave up on him. I told people this is a new/day age , modern medicine is amazing. Heck my name use to be "stickwitchadjoe@opt".

    Lets go chad.

Got to admit I gave up on him, after putting a lot of blind faith into Chad earlier in his career. Never thought I'd see him have one great game again, let alone two. Still I didn't wish anything bad on him, just believed it was impossible for a QB to come back from 2 broken arms.

He meant that even though he didn't believe it was possible for Chad to return, he still wanted for it to happen.

I always said that I knew he would play this year. I didn't think he'd be this good, but I knew he'd play. My question is him staying healthy for a whole year. I hope like hell he can, but only at the end of the season will the "comeback" be complete.
