Haha at least ya admit it.

No but seriously, from watching him play, all he needs is his confidence back. Like I said, I would definitely hesitate before picking him up because he's damaged goods mentally. If someone could shape up his confidence, he's a damn good player.

what makes you think houston would settle for just a second? what makes you think kubiak would want chad? he could have gotten jake the snake for less, and he has a better arm, plays more games, and has gotten into the playoffs more.:eek:hmy:

It is all dependant on how the CS feels about Clemens as a future starting Qb. If they aren't thrilled with him & judging by the fact that he couldn't beat out Ramsey for #2 at any point last year, I think it is reasonable to believe that maybe they weren't thrilled with his progression. If they aren't than I think this could be a great move, I really like Carr & believe that he could end up being a steal for his next team, I wouldn't mind that team being the Jets. I would be willing to gamble for a potential franchise QB.

You could make a case that we, as Jets fans, are damaged goods mentally for having supported this team for so long. That being the case, Carr might fit right in here.

im sorry to say, but to even say that carr is on the same level as a healthy chad pennington is sickening...he will remaine and should remaine the jets starting qb for the next couple years...david carr is a nobody, and i just dont see him being even close to an upgrade compared to chad.

You know, I would love Carr in this offense, ESPECIALLY since Schott is a master at coaching up low confidence, high intelligence, good talent QBs. He did it with Brees, and he prepared Chad (and of course Chad had alot to do with it) as well as you possibly could for a coach coming in late to install a brand new offense to a QB who many weren't even sure would be backup material after his injuries.

Carr came into this league with a reputation as a highly talented, physical, and intelligent QB. It's been beaten out of him for 6 or so years, but the guy is a breakout waiting to happen.

Right now, not only are the Texans using him AND Johnson wrong but relying so much on the short pass game, but they won't even protect either one of them well enough for them to be what they can be. That team is borderline retarded with their offensive assets if you ask me. With a different, more logical franchise (the Jets), I think Carr could make a jump from decent to very good QB very quickly.

Interesting idea...Would we have to pick up the entire remainder of Carr's contract? I believe he's signed thru '07 or '08 and is due around $8.5 mil per year in salary and bonuses, not positive tho.

That said, upgrading the D is our main priority this draft. We could really use those first two picks on a big time pass rusher and a cornerback.

Like all other proposed moves - I'd only support this one if the price were right. I am suprised though - I thought Carr recently had his contract extended? If that is the case I can't imagine being able to hold his and Penny's salaries on our cap. Based on that fact alone I can't see it happening unless he (or Penny) were to renegotiate.

I agree with those who see the glass as half full here - Carr's upside in our offense is considerably higher than offense. Of course the question in my eyes really isn't about confidence. It's a question of whether or not he could drop the bad habits that he surely picked up while scrambling for his life behind the texan's putrid oline. If he could do this he'd be able to bring our offense to levels that Penny just can't.

In short I would definitely do it for a 2 if we could aborb his cap #'s.

Ya kidding right show the stats well Carr has 2 less years in the league and has 19 morE ints and has a
.75 lower YPA. Now minus the year Chad missed if you average out the common years played Chad is a better QB Less To's more Tds. A better completrion rate . Hell Chad evan has 30 less fumbles . . Carr just needs to stay away from Ny unless its with the NYG hell let him go to Oaktown or M.I.A . I hear they are both pretty despreate for a mediocre QB...The only way I'd hope the Jets would sign this BUM is if he got the league min. With the option to drop his bum ass and the remander of his contract !!!!

how about nothing....i'd take a chance on him if he was cut, but to give up anything for a position we are not in need of is ridiculous
qb is last on the list right now

Carr is an interesting idea. I'm not convinced the guy is completely damaged. He's certainly a tough SoB. I think if the price was right and we brought him in and he sat behind Chad for a year or two, he could have a chance to relax, learn the system and work his way back into the game and be pretty good.

I think he could push Chad, but doubt he'd steal the job from him for at least the first year. I certainly would have more faith Carr than I had in Ramsey ever doing anything. And if Clemens ends up coming on strong too in the next year or 2 then someone might be good trade bait.

It seemed like Ramsy was an insurance policy and that was it. There was uncertany in Chad but I think thats gone . Chad proved himself last year and doubted many haters . Hell I was convinced Chad was done then he carried the offense like he did . Wow. I just hope Chad and Jones will be a nice tandum to mess with and I hope they complete the triple threat that the Jets need to Overtake The divison for a few years and make some serious runs at the SB. Hell I'd give my left lung for some Patriot success with the Jets . hell it looks like they have got a strong foundation now ...

If Miami got him and he started, as a Jets fan, I'd be pumped up.

Coming out of college Carr was a hot prospect. he went to a brand new franchise and got slaughtered. QB isnt RB though, as long as he doesnt take hits here, i dont have a problem with his sack history.

Yea but he has a serious cause of fumleitis . Thats what I would be worried about . there is no doubt that Carr would take a hit and brush it off .
