    While this is true, I think Seymour has more credibility than Kotite haha.

    As far as giving Oakland props, I'll admit they looked better than previous year. Having said that, don't use the Chargers as the bar. They perennially get off to slow starts and play worse in the beginning of the season.
    Through the first 8 weeks:
    2008, 3-5 (finished 8-8)
    2007, 4-3 (finished 11-5)
    2006, 5-2 (finished 14-2)
    2005, 4-4 (finished 9-7)
    2004, 5-3 (finished 12-4)

    So I wouldn't put too much stock in looking competitive against the Chargers in the first game of the season.
