Any good coach would review what the play is and change it, if he had half a brain. That being said, taking the whole package that is Herm it's possible he could be successful in KC, but we saw enough here to show that he will have a problem going all the way. It's game management, which certainly falls on the coach whether he's calling the plays or not.
My bad he will be the greatest coach ever because he will fine guys. The years TOM BRADY was winning them SB Eric wasn't making any big disscusions.
that's right. and he was the asst. Head Coach, and his other duty was to give John Lynch hugs before every game.
how many of you are glad that he gone because he black? it just amazing that a man took us to the playoffs 3 of his 5 years would have been 4 if we didn't get all those injuries and all of a sudden he sucks. something doesn't sound right!
okay this is just ignorant...People are glad herm's gone because he inherited a Super Bowl Caliber team and did NOTHING to improve it. Yeah, we made the playoffs three years, but on the back of Parcells' players. Plus factor in the fact that we BACKED in all three times. Don't get me wrong I was happy as pig in shit when we made the playoffs, you just need to understand that we made the playoffs in spite of Herm not because of him
You think we don't like him because he's black? Please, dude. I'm sure most of us liked Donnie as a coordinator, so don't play the race card against us. Herm seemed like a good guy, but with the talent he had we realistically should've made it to the championship game at least once under his reign. Just because he's a nice, media friendly guy doesn't mean he's a good coach-just look at Belicheck and Cowher.
you don't sound like a #1 jet fan. First of all herm made it to the playoffs with players left from the tuna era. we would have never smelled the playoffs if it wasn't for bill parcells. To say taht we should've kept herm tells me you liked the direction this team was going. You would be in the minority if that's the case. Us realistic and true jet fans knew that change was the biggest thing this team needed, so I for one am glad we have mangina at least the future looks better with him and tanny as opposed to herm and buttway. If you really miss herm you should become the chiefs #1 fan.
Oh god, come on. We don't dislike him because he is black. We dislike him because the guy doesn't know how to manage the clock. He was too much of a wuss to change plays. He was soft with his players.
well...that's f'd up and does not factor in with my dislike for Herm...In fact I didn't even hate him, i'm just more excited about the direction the new Jets are going in
You're being totally unfair to these guys playing the race card and such crap accusations almost doesn't deserve a response. True unprejudiced remarks come from being able to evaluate a player, coach or other type person based on what they do without reference to what color they are. Those that are afraid to criticise a person of color are as weak as those who are truly prejudiced and may be prejudiced themselves. My main criticim of Edwards was not game management - it was the fact that he did not build a system within the JETS for both the coaches or players, thus once there was a need for a coaching change there was never a consistent philosophy from year to year. Mangini whether he turns out to be a good or bad coach will at least bring a consistent philosophy that will survive any coordinator or other coaching changes.
I've never heard any other fans say that at games, and I've been to almost every home game of Herm's career. (cept 1/2 of them last seasons).
I havn't heard it myself until this season and I've been to every home game of the Herm era except for 2.
I don't know these people. Sorry I don't belieive you can get to know somebody on a computer. I never said anybody was I just ask the question.
