That game where Johnny Mitchell blew up was the first game I ever attended (I was 12) After that game, my father told me to get used to this, being a jet fan

Just curious, but how do you know? I would have assumed the same thing, but I don't go to Eagles games. The Eagles have been around a lot longer then the Jets.

Jets win. Buffalo and Giants games were games we shoulda won but didn't execute our gameplan. This week we have to.

Wrong again, that chant has been established long before our chant was created, you really shouldn't give an opinion if you don't know what you are talking about

    Exactly...

I will be at the game...I will be driving from Maryland to see my Jets, but do I actually think we will win this game? HEEEEEELL NAW...

We might do better offensively, but the Eagles should be able to ring up the scoreboard on us.

McNabb was able to rest his knee for 2 weeks...I smell trouble.

You are one of the best guys at breaking the game down on this board but this is just all rumor mongering and speculation. I expect the News Hour from you not Access Holywood.:)

It's possible Mangini is simply being loyal to Chad for Chad being loyal to him? Chad could have been the guy to blow him up in TC last year when he was killing the veterans but instead he got on board and things worked. Now that there is a little adversity on the field maybe Mangini is being loyal, maybe he believes there are signs of a turnaround, maybe he has a plan to ease Clemens into the lineup that doesn't fit in with fan expectation?

Chad wasn't the same QB in 03 and 04 before he hurt his arm that he was in 02. Now that his arm is clearly shot, everyone is off the bandwagon. Obviously Chad wasn't and isn't starting because of his arm and maybe Mangini really believes in what he is doing and isn't going to be dictated to by a handful of crappy games when he has a lot of new players, a lot of journeyman players and a lot of outright JAGS on the team?

I would have benched Chad after game one in 04, when it was obvious he didn't have the balls to take this team for a playoff run of more than 1 game. We had a much better year in 04 than anyone could have expected. It was the kind of year that gives even a crappy coach a couple of extra years to hang himself. How about we give Mangini more than 5 games after a great year with a bad team before hanging him? The guy deserves a couple of years to put his plan in place.

It's not as if we didn't all know it already, this puts into words what the problem is with our running game.

LINE OF FIRE: The offensive line seems to spring a new leak whenever Thomas Jones runs the ball. Example: On his seventh, eighth, ninth and 11th carries against the Giants, which gained minus-2, 1, 2 and minus-2 yards, the following players suffered breakdowns: C Nick Mangold, LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson (on two plays), C Wade Smith (in briefly for Mangold), RG Brandon Moore and TE Chris Baker. Jones is a one-cut, downhill runner. If he doesn't get an immediate crease, it's probably not going to be a long gain. ...Ferguson did an excellent job in pass protection against Osi Umenyiora. He was isolated on Umenyiora for 26 of 37 pass plays, yielding only a late sack and one pressure.

God I hate Filthadelphia fans ? the only time I cheer for the Suckaneers all year is when those cock bites from Filthy invade this town.

Last year was priceless (I think it was last year if I remember correctly) ? the Bucs beat the Gaygles on that last second long field goal and then the Lightning kicked the piss out of their shitty flyers.

It was cool because all of the damn sports bars were packed with douche nozzles from Filthadelphia?which ultimately ended up in a few of them being beaten up.

BTW I think he is also doing exactly the same thing with JV. Here we are D giving up 150 or more running yds per game & he is making no changes whatsoever in the LBers corp.

I agree that Mangini should get some space to do what he wants to do. But I'll want him fired if what he wants to do turns into 3-13. There's just no excuse for losing the two games the Jets lost in the last two weeks. Those were both in the palm of their hand based on the opponent's play and the Jets just handed the games to the opponent. It's like the Cleveland game last year back to back.

The Jets are a bad team physically just like we were last year, the Giants are simply much better than us on both sides of the line. Without a good game plan we are blown out in the first half against the Giants. The Bills game was just a crappy QB performance by Chad. Last year and this year if Chad plays well we win that game.

Here are the games in the last two years where if Chad played above average (not great, just above average) the Jets win, but he played worse than that and they lost:

    2006

Week 8 against Cleveland. (Spastic QBing of the type normally reserved for good defenses, somehow the Browns were good for a day...)
Week 11 against Chicago. (Deer in the headlights the whole game, threw key Int when the Jets were in the redzone.)
Week 14 against Buffalo. (Int return late in the first half was the crusher and Chad did nothing in the second half at all.)

    2007

Week 4 against Buffalo. (Key Int's cut off drives including the clincher desperation heave at the end.)
Week 5 against Giants. (We all saw it, I'm not going to make us live through it again.)

That's 14 games the Jets have played since mid-season last year and Chad has lost 5 of them with crappy QB play. That's enough to replace him.
