Did you think we were going 11-0 the rest of the way? This game showed us where we are, and what we need to do to improve. You have to be open to learning new things to improve. We lost to the best team in the League today and not by much. We will beat Oakland next week and move on to the next game. The Rex Ryan days are over. One game is not gonna make or break this team. We're not a 4-12 joke anymore. Relax and let the season play itself out.
I mean, when you hold the opposing team to 16 rushing yards for an entire game and they drop like 15 passes, you kind of expect a win. Going into the game, I don't think anyone expected to win. Just that there were openings to snatch it from them and we didn't take them.
Agreed. The downside is we can't generate any pressure without blitzing just like the good old days of Rex. That's why they completed the 3rd and 17. That was the turning point of the game.
Not sure we held them to anything. They chose not to run the ball. They dropped a lot of passes and we dropped a critical one.
Why not just throw Geno in there with 16 seconds left on the clock. I am 100% in support of Fitz, but that was Hail Mary time. At least put a QB in there who can make the throw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To be honest, while he doesn't throw a great 60 yard bomb, his intermediate throws have looked pretty good and strong. His arm strength seems to have gotten better in the past few weeks. _
No kidding. Belichick is the best coach in the NFL. Bowles is an experienced coach but a rookie HC. You're going to get out coached by him and out Qb'd by Brady most of the time. But the Jets were competitive today and we had a chance to win the game.
Should I dig up your post game posts from last year? Were u looking for 'competitive' despite half the roster then? They were there for the taking today, even with the likely home cheating
You know what kills me about that one? There was a player wide open going across the middle. Fitz threaded the needle and made a nice throw, but he could have had the easy first down/touchdown across the middle. It's easy to see it from the TV angle, but he locks onto receivers. Should have been a catch.
Not a win. I was happy with Rex teams showing up and playing for 60mins. This isn't a referendum on Rex though. New HC, OC, QB, system. Results so far? 4-2 and a ton or respect from our most hated rival. If you have to lose, this isn't the worst. Next week we play Oakland. Lets see how this team rebounds from this.
BB out-adjusted post halftime. TB < BB but so is every HC. I thought the game was well played and I'm pleased.
I know ladrop dropped a bunch of balls but a couple of things about that. First, a lot of them were with a defender right there in his space if not contested. Second, I'm sure if Brady had a choice he'd throw to Gronk or Edleman or Amendola before even thinking about throwing to LaFell. So it seems to me that our defense must have been taking away those options for him and forcing him to throw to an unfavorable option. I'm sure the Pats didn't go into the game thinking LaFell was going to be the horse they were going to ride to victory.
The Jets also need to draft or sign a legit OLB. It's been almost a decade since we've had one (John Abraham). If they had one of those today, they likely stop Brady on 3rd and 17, and who knows what happens after that.
Instant gratification is the name of the game we play. Either you win it all as a ROOKIE HC nonetheless, including a very tough against the consistent 12+ win franchise, or you fail. There is no such thing as this thing called [Progress.] Yeah. Mangina abused that term a lot, but face it. Rome was NOT built overnight. Don't behave like it could be.
Even some of the improved Jets players like Marshall if they would have made a play the results might have been different. The Patriots gave up big plays today, too. Maybe two or three plays made the difference. And completing a pass on a 3rd and 17 is not unusual for Brady and that offense. I don't think it was the scheme on that play we were just out executed. They have been coming from behind for years and winning games. We were in a good position to win that game. This is what you want a good team to do: give you a chance to win.
So u were happy after losing to the pats last year? Somehow I doubt that and those were closer games Inconsistency and double standards grind my gears, although maybe that's not u and I'm just pissed Agreed we got a weak schedule ahead and it's a good test. Team needs to accept they aren't invisible and move forward by working hard. That's where Bowles can bake his bread (I hope)
