It'll really make ya mad if we already got him in the building, eh?

I'm one of like two people that think that he is going to take off here.. When It happens. Call me a football prophet I guess. idk

so where’s the evidence for us to be optimistic at all ??

we have a new GM with a good attitude
we have an ex jet player as coach with a good attitude
    Off-season was OK
First round of this draft we picked an OL who is pretty good

talk to me in October 2025 please

I want to see a really good start to the season

They didn't draft a QB, which would have been a big disappointment. They apparently stuck to their plan as evidenced by quote below

The night went well," said GM Darren Mougey. "Unfolded kind of the way we expected starting off with Mason Taylor, a tight end we've had our eye on. We think he can come in and help us on offense, young, athletic, really good ball skills, instinctive, has versatility. And then AZ Thomas, another long, athletic, talented press corner, can play physical, young, still development there. Will come in and add good depth at a premium position. Stuck to the board and feel really good about it

Of course, such comments are meaningless, no one will admit they erred. But they filled a need with Taylor and I cannot complain about getting what is supposed to be a quality cb. Posters still want to see more receivers drafted, maybe that happens today. Maybe not. But I do like the fairly quick picks cause that signals to me they really do have a plan and are sticking to it.

No matter who they draft today, the process of filling the roster goes on throughout the summer. So again, I am optimistic the team knows what it needs and has a plan to fill them. If their talent evaluation ability is on target than my optimism gets a leg up.

Hey bud. Of course you are entitled to your opinion and I am not saying this as an Admin I am saying this as a fellow poster. But have some perspective. We all now we sucked ass 15 years. Even then, we still come to this board, watch Jets news etc. There is no harm in a little bit of optimism. Try it, you might like it. :)

I'm not feeling this new regime. I hope I'm wrong but first impressions haven't been good.

If the Jets had this draft while still having Rodgers at QB I'd be ecstatic so pumped up!!!

TWO 1st round bookend tackles, a TE, a WR for Aaron Rodgers WOW man!!!

Then tthey coul;d've hads Rodgers AND drafted Sheduer Sanders to groom behind him for a year or two!!!

    Imagine that?

    Instead we have ...

    Justin Fields at QB.

LOL OMG only the Jets they even traded back into round 4 to select a db to tease/torture their fans a bit more.

    Oh the pain.

I'm glad this new Regime shook off the Douglas/Saleh infatuation with headlines and found the courage to move on from the past. I see this Regime being more successful than the prior one simply because they don't give a damn about hurt feelings, media exposure or entitlements. Woody so far has kept his word and stayed away from both the team and the microphones letting AG and The Moug do what they need to do. Having a peaceful, quiet, drama free offseason is REFRESHING to say the least. Having Justin Fields is a far better option than waiting on a decision from a former legend if he's gonna play or not. Fields not a HoF QB, but he's also not a PAIN IN THE ASS and an upgrade from Zack Wilson and the marginal talent in the Qb room. If Fields has a redemption season like Baker Mayfield, its all upside for an offense unshackled by Downing/Hackett or a QB that only calls the plays he wants to the players he trust.

What we have now is another chance to become relevant again. Perhaps even earn some respect around the league as our CS won't be a clown show in '25.

Frankly, I don't think this CS gives a damn if the fans like them or not. They're here to win and that's all that matters.

Looking ahead and hoping for the best.

Pretty boring draft for the Jets imo. Boring doesn't mean bad.

Thought we would give more attention to stopping the run.
Hope we're planning to sign a run stuffer who gets cut.

Fieds is way better than Sanders, dropping to the 5th round might give him a chip on his shoulder and an extra bit of fight to prove people wrong but some on here would have taken him with the #42 pick and have been crying ever since, taken in the 5th round lol
Odd the Browns took him after the other pick but that will just add to the circus imo

Yeah, plenty of time to fill needs with players. I think the easiest need to fill will be the DL. It seems there are big guys always available. Hopefully they get someone competent
