Even without a GM, Mara is still a constant, and Darnold fits the bill in terms of what the Giants look for at QB.

It's just my hunch of course, but I feel Rosen may be a bit too cavalier in attitude for Mara.

Great post, Red. My only amendment would be your bolded sentence. It reads a little passive to me, and leaves a lot to chance. If the Jets #1 choice at QB gets drafted before their pick and they were unable to trade up for him, then they should go all in in trading up, down or maybe even reaching a little to insure that they get their 2nd choice QB. By reaching a little, I don't mean like drafting Hack in the 2nd when he was probably a 3rd or 4th round pick. I mean reaching down 5-10 spots within a round.

I like it all except option #6. I don't like that one at all.

If the jets have a top 5 pick and the QB they want is gone, then I would select the best player available if the second best QB on their board has a lower value than Saquan, Mcglinchey, or a top line OLB that can get to the QB.

Obviously I have no clue how they score their draft picks, so that's why it seems a little passive.

We'll see how it turns out in the draft, but right now, based on what I've ready about McGlinchey this season, his stock has gone backwards. Williams of Texas and that huge OT from OK are better OT prospects.

As much as I would love to add Saquon, Chubb or Key, if the Jets have their 2nd choice QB rated just a little behind those three, then I'd rather they take the QB since he is more important to the overall success of the team. If there's a significant gap, then sure take the BPA, but they then have to try to trade back up into the 1st round or top of the 2nd to get their 2nd choice QB.

If Mac passes on another Deshaun Watson type opportunity in round one, then he needs to be fired right after the draft.

Luke Falk Is a 4 year college starter, who is very accurate and has a great TD/ Int ratio. No one completes more passes or has put up as many passing yards. He is a very good pocket QB, but his two knocks are the number of sacks he takes and he will not win any foot races. He had negative yards on the ground and not one TD with his feet.

I would put him in my top five NFL ready guys. Accuracy is the most important quality for a guy coming out of college and as a four year starter he has completed 69% of his passes in college.

That's fair, the number of sacks also correlates with the 530 pass attempts he has, anyone who drops back to pass that often will have a high number of sacks.

I'm not worried about him rushing the ball, he's mobile enough that he can move in the pocket, he will be an excellent pocket passer in the NFL and he won't be asked to throw 530 times a year, he will have a running game which will complement his good qualities.

Cousins. 4 for 115 - front load the shit out of it. Do not trade up.

If Macs philosophy is to be used as a guide, he should try hard for Cousins and then do BPA in the draft. As of right now that doesn't seem to be a 3-4 defensive end (thank god). So I would prefer that pick be used on another piece on the offense or a REAL pass rusher (not a 300 lb d-lineman) or shutdown corner.

I think Falk has the potential to be a very good NFL QB if he goes to a team that plays either in a dome or in mild weather and plays in the right system. I don't think he would be successful in the NE, GB or Chicago (if they were looking for a QB), or with a team with a downfield passing attack. I think a WCO offense would be perfect for him

What scares me about trading up for a qb is i don’t trust Bowles to develop him correctly. He has had no faith in any young QBs since he’s been here.

McCown and Fitz (both Vets in the league) has career years under Him. I don’t think it’s coincidence either. Get another vet qb and go from there. Cousins has proven he can play in this league. Forget about how much you pay him. we have the money and it won’t cripple us if it’s front loaded

Or a much more talented potential first round qb might not be able to do enough to have Bowles play him.

No, No, No! Washington has a better HC and better team, yet Cousins has done nothing this year. He is not a $20-$25 million QB. I would rather draft Mayfield, Rosen, Rudolph or Falk. These are the best pocket QBs with the best accuracy and most passing yards.

All we have to go in is what we saw. Bowles has to this point always played the best qb available to him. There is no physical evidence to dispute this

Rosen concussion issue has me concerned, seriously would not consider him with top 5 pick.

Rudolph is not as complete as some might think, he rarely gets off his first read. Look at his tape, not smooth with footwork either.

He looks like Bryce pettys twin.

I hate the way he throws the deep ball. He puts way too much air under the ball. I see A LOT of INTs in his NFL future if he even plays.
