If we can't get Mariota or Winston, I'd want Marshall. Heck I might want him more than Jameis (no homo). Watch the tape and you'll see a poised QB who stands tall in the pocket and makes great reads downfield. He also has better mobility than Winston and is able to extend plays and make accurate throws. Plus, he doesn't have the mind of a middle school boy going into puberty that Winston does. Gimme Cooper and Marshall with Harbaugh developing the QB and I'd be happy. Ideally, Mariota and Greene/Coates in the second or best O line is what I'd really like to see happen.

Harvin concerns me in terms of how much time he spends off the field. But for that I would say he should definitely come back. Not sure how much to value his missing time.

that is a serious red flag.
not the level of professionalism i'd expect from HC or organization. we need the Jets to get on the same page in terms of direction.

Fire Idzik quickly, and get the GM/FO situation sorted with a goal of building a physical cold weather team, with the emphasis on Defense, Oline, and of course the QB position.
Then hire a coach on board with that direction.....not someone to define the direction. There will be better options than Harbaugh.

    i like Harvin's playmaking potential, but i don't think he's worth it.

    1) i'd like to keep that 4th round pick. If we are serious about Mariota, we'll need to trade up, which limits the number of draft picks we'll have. If not Mariota, might want to move up in the 2nd round, so same deal. I want that draft pick for trade flexibility in getting a QB.

    2) 10.5M is just too steep for Harvin, especially considering we don't have a QB. Most of our cap should be used on getting a vet QB who can start next season, Oline, and secondary help. We can sign an average WR for a fraction of the price.

    3) He's been a model teammate so far. But his attitude history concerns me as we look to bring in a young QB and likely first time HC. not worth that disruptive risk considering his cost.

We won't be a good team next year. Keeping Harvin is like putting fat rims on an '87 Datsun. Shiny and nice, but won't take you anywhere. Lets work on the engine first.

Harbaugh may be a preening, power hungry narcissist, but he's just not dumb enough to hitch his wagon to either the Jets or the Skins.

Why would Sutton make a lateral move to a team that demoted him in the last regime? When he is running one of the most effective defenses in the league now?

That statement is BS and you and I both know it. Winston's interceptions are high, because he gets sloppy with his mechanics at times (tends to drop elbow and has a slow release), he's made poor reads (His three interceptions in the Florida game happened, because he did not see the Mike) and he's just flat out missed throws.

However, he does posses some traits that you want in a franchise QB; he has great anticipation, seems to recover quickly from mistakes, and is a big, somewhat , mobile QB, that can hit WRS in the numbers, from the pocket, but the first portion of your statement was incorrect.

His family is still in NY and he only got demoted because Rex waned to run the D.. I think if we give him the keys to the D he would come back in a heartbeat.

You haven't rationalized why he would leave a job in KC where he is running one of the best defenses in the league. In a lateral move.

He's currently not listed to go in ANY ROUND and has been told he must switch positions in order to make it.

    So yeah let's use our 2nd :^))))))))))))))))

Please provide the details of his family living on the east coast that are worth ruining his carer over. And when I say "details", I mean proof that he really wants to come back here.

He's built a serious defense and may soon be in line for a HC position if he keeps it up.

A lateral move back to the team that demoted him isn't going to help that.

And please don't tell me that you think he's interested in being a coordinator for his entire career. That's dipshit talk.

I'm all for Harbaugh as long as we don't send any draft picks to get him. If you must compensate, send Coples or even Pryor or some underachiever but keep the picks because when you're 2-11 you have a ton of needs.
