Rex is a loudmouth blowhard that doesn't know shit about being a head coach... but you're right, he is way better. How can we suck so bad every Frickin year?
I don't know how we'all finish or how good or bad Rex is but I'm do know he's at least willing to change how he coaches. He has given full control of the defense to Thurman and has his brother handle the redzone defense. He also sits in and adds his input to the offensive side of the ball. He's actually delegating responsibility and overseeing everything as a head coach should instead of just micromanaging the defense likes he's done in the past.
It honestly looks (this season at least) as though most of this is true. He seems less stubborn and has learned from his failures with the Jets. I don't know how he'd be with the Jets because who knows if he'd have changed his ways without a change of scenery. He does have those guys playing hard and in position to win games though. The offense looks revitalized after firing the offensive coordinator and is playing to Taylor's strengths. We never really saw that when he was here.
Yeah but still if the team of the Bills do not get to the playoffs, Rex could be looking at another job.
Commentator, where he was destined to be. I would like to see him with Tony Dungy on Sunday Night in America or whatever they call it.
Not a big Rex fan, but he was better than Bowles, IMO. If Rex was still on the team last season the Jets make the playoffs, mainly because he wouldn't have been on the Bills and out coached Bowles defensively in both 2015 games and it's unlikely he makes the same mistakes that Bowles made last year that cost us a couple games. Rex did get a raw deal. They take away Revis & Cromartie in the same year, the secondary gets lit up all season, then they fire Rex and immediately bring back both Revis and Cromartie. Basically a slap in the face heard around the world, because it pissed Rex off and motivated him to beat the Jets at all costs. If Rex was here this year, it would have made almost no difference. The team is flawed and it's not strictly coaching, but they might possibly have an additional win.
I think he would make a good color commentator calling games. People like fat boys and with that Oklahoma twang he has as well, he would be very popular. I see him as the next John Madden.
When an individual is given an ultimatum he will do things out of the ordinary to survive, Bills ownership will move on from him if the team does not make the playoffs. Rex had no reason to change when he was the frat boy HC of the Jets, Woody loved him and would have never fired him if he never hire the consultant group of Casserly and Wolf. If Rex had just kept his mouth shut and not ran to Mehta to try and sabotage Idzik he probably would still be the HC of the Jets. He sealed his own fate by being unprofessional and a loudmouth. JMO Without a QB Rex wouldn't be doing much better with the jets. the one thing I did like about Rex is his emphasis on running the ball. I believe that a team still needs to have a good running game in the NFL to be consistently successful especially with how many mediocre QBs are in the NFL. I think the Bills have a better team that the jets do this year, however they will end up with one more win than the jets. Bills 7-9 Jets 6-10 JMO
Can you imagine if TB gets fired and Woody brings back Rex? Woody loved Rex, he was like the funny uncle in the room.
If that happened, Can you even consider it reality? You'd have to concede that we live in an alternate reality, that the world doesn't exist. And that Donald Trump is president of the United States. Crazy talk.
