Pepper Johnson was a HUGE disappointment. If there are upcoming changes in the CS (and there should be), - we should spare no expense to get Karl Dunbar back. He's currently at Alabama right now & to no surprise, their DL is having tremendous success.
Yep, big disappointment. I'm not sure Dunbar would come back but he was a great Dline coach. Dline under performed immensely, but we also need to add edge pressure which we had none of.
Dunbar made a useful edge rusher out of Aaron Maybin, if that's your concern. [Maybin never played another down in the NFL after he left the Jets.]
That is true ..... I also forgot about Maybin's stint with the Jets. Dunbar would be a great addition, but I'm more concerned with actually having the edge talent to generate a pass rush which we sorely lacked this year. Matt Miller of Bleacher Report has us taking Tim Williams at 6.
Miller also has that Wyoming quarterback going in the top 5. Seems a bit wild for that to happen, so I take that mock with a grain of salt.
I take all mocks with a grain of salt given the fact that no one can predict what will happen. But draft season is always interesting
True enough, but I like Derek Barnett at edge rusher a lot more than Tim Williams. Barnett has been a force for all three of his starting years at Tennessee while he wasn't surrounded by the talent Williams was. He also has an incredible motor and doesn't come with baggage. I see Barnett as being the next Terrell Suggs.
Holy shit, - thats hysterical. The kid has 1 season under his belt in the Mountain West (a.k.a. the run & shoot and the chuck & duck conference) with no defense and they put him in the top 5 of an NFL Draft. Why am I not on the Bleacher Report payroll?? Someone make sure this Allen kid doesnt read Bleacher Report & goes back to school for at LEAST another year. UPDATE ---- 56% completion rate + only 1 game over 300 yrds passing,.......AGAINST UNLV!!!!!........in 3 OTs!!!!!!! Talk about reaching when desperate for a franchise QB. We need to move this to the draft forum unless we're talking about Brandon Shell.
