Alright I have a couple questions, what country do you stream "from". Also have you used the quad-view? how good is that? I wasnt going to do it but again this week NY is only get one game in each time slot, so its forced me now to order something. I had multiple streams up last week, but between the delay and the lag I rather just by $130 and enjoy it.
Sure doesn't make any sense on the surface, but their cancellations department (and that of any television provider) is there to convince people not to leave at almost any cost.
Could you please explain the details on how you worked the cancellation department? I tried to have my wife do this this year since her name is on the account and she screwed it up royally.
Are you getting Sunday Ticket for free? And I would just call them and tell them straight up that you talked to someone that you know, and they are getting paid to stay or whatever the case is and that you demand to match it. Whats the worse that can happen? you get denied? its not like they are gunna cut you off.
That will never work. Waste of time. You can't just do it any old time because there are cancellation fees involved, so you have no leverage until it's time to agree to their price increase for the next year (when you call again, ready to cancel again, and they give you a promotional deal again.) If you go in and say "Hey my friend is paying more than me, I want that deal" they'll tell you to hit the bricks. You have to play the game. It's a dance. A tango. A brutal war of attrition.
Well of course you have to do it at the end of the contract. (which dont they make you sign for 2 years?)
I called customer service and immediately asked to be transferred to the cancellations dept. Once I was in with cancellations, I explained that I was a Jets fan out of market, and really the only reason I subscribe to DTV was for the Sunday Ticket package, but said I wasn't as much of a fan as I used to be and it really made no sense for me to pay for it (even though I've been getting it really cheap for the past 4-5 years) it even keep the DTV service and was annoyed that brand new customers were getting it for free while long time customers like myself were getting screwed like this. I mentioned Uverse a few times and got mock irate, and she asked if she could put me on hold. When she came back she asked if I would stay if they gave it to me for free. I kind of dawdled a bit saying the service Uverse offers is superior and my signal wouldn't go out every time there was a thunderstorm, and she threw in the gift card.
I use the Hola.org app for Chromecast. You download that, turn it on, choose any country you want, and access the Game Pass page. You purchase your subscription of choice (you can use your CC with a US billing address, no problem) and then launch the player. Once the player is launched you shut off the Hola.org app, and you can do whatever you want - you aren't streaming through any particular country to watch the games, you only need to do that for a few seconds when you launch the player. Once it's launched you've got it; there's no need for the VPN utility anymore. I do not have quad-view, but the streaming quality is waaaay better than what I had with Sunday Ticket Max last year, plus you get the redzone channel. You also don't get blacked out of any national or local games (which may not matter to you, but I'm a cordcutter who doesn't live in the NY market anymore). Oh, and NFL Network live AND archived streaming.
I know about ten websites that allow me to stream the game successfully, And if I can't stream them from there, I know about then Spanish and English websites that will do the same thing. If for some reason I miss the game I will just download it. The Internet is a wide and big place, spend time on various tech bulletin boards, torent websites and get to know people. A lot of finding the right place is getting to know subscribers.
What do you mean you dont have quad view? Do you not receive it or you just choose not to use it? Lastly do you happen to know the code to get the 15% off?
I mean I don't have the ability to put four games on at once, if that's what you're asking. The password I used was REP15.
No worries. I was taken aback at how simple the whole process was, as I was expecting it to be beyond my technical means. Nope. Ridiculously simple.
I went on there last Sunday and it was a freaking hassle to get the thing to work, and even then, it was laggy as hell. How was your experience in that site? If you received great streaming with no lag, please elaborate, because I feel like I've made a big mistake in letting my Sunday Ticket go.
Update... I called DirecTV and reminded them that I was a 10yr customer and asked for the absolute best deal they could give me on the Sunday Ticket. I didn't tell them that I had just cancelled it about a month ago although I have a feeling they could see that when they accessed my account. They gave me the Sunday Ticket for free as long as I committed to DirecTV for a year. I jumped on that deal in a NY Sec. as I have no intention of moving on from DTV until FIOS is available in my area. Sooooo, I now get the Sunday Ticket for free and they knocked a few bucks off my monthly bill for a year. Great Deal!!
