Put Turner behind our offensive line and he won't be near as productive is he is in San Diego. Let's go after Kris Dielman or Eric Steinbech first.

Exactly. We have to shore up our lines as well as get an RB.

LOL Leon Washington could have made both of those runs just as effectively with those holes. Hell I might of and I do not think Mangini/Tannenbaum is going to give up any draft picks for my fat ass.

Of course he could. He could've had 5000 rushing yards if opposing teams would stop tackling him.

Why cut Houston? Him being a 6th round pick really doesnt affect the cap.... and we need depth too.......

Its RobA...he would blow Leon Washington if he ever met him.

I am almost certain we will trade for Micahel Turner. I don't really want to give up a first rounder for him, but I don't think the Jets would trade a first for shits and giggles. He would be the primary ball carrier and would be expected to produce. If we can get him I wouldn't be suprised to see 1200 yards and close to double digit TD's.

    Go get Turner!

The more i read, the more i keep seeing this Michael Turner trade seem legit. I'm not sold on Turner yet, offensive line is one of the most underrated (set of) positions in the NFL, and running through holes three people wide, and with the best blocking FB in the NFL Lorenzo Neal in front of you, its really not that hard to run well, thats why teams like denver always consistently have a good run offense no matter what no-name running back they put in, although they've had some great ones too

I guess what i'm trying to say is that i really hope we dont give up our first rounder for him, i think that even if a great RB isnt available at 25 we still have a lot of big holes to fill like a pass rusher, as for the second round, i could see letting one of those picks go for LT's backup

The people complaining about the offensive line...we have a good offensive line! We had success for the most part all season long. Keep in mind we had two rookies starting!

We also don't know the Jets plans...maybe they intend on adding Turner and a guy like Steinbach to bolster the blocking.

If the Jets go after Turner it doesn't automatically mean they are ignoring the offensive line.

Wow I could not agree more. So many here are shortchanging the running backs we have, especially Leon. We just do not get enough push and create enough holes for our running backs. Improve our run blocking and all of a sudden Leon and Cedric don't look so bad. And on Leon:

    1. He WILL be better next year. More rested, stonger and more experienced
    2. He is as dynamic a runner in the open field as anyone in the NFL, you just do not give up on that talent. You use it, and I think Tangini is on the same page.

Use our early picks for DE, CB, and OL.

I'm not saying we have a bad offensive line at all, b/c we dont, but i am saying that San Diego has a great offensive line. We may be better than them in a couple of years, or at least have a very very good offensive line, but right now the holes Turner runs through in San Diego will not be the same size as the ones he will run through here, so that said i dont really know if giving away first rounder for an untested starter while we have a young guy who is doing pretty well in his first year, is a smart idea

    1. PORTIS : This guy is mentally handicapped!
    2. TURNER: This runnnig back is the beast we should be looking at.
    3. McCALISTER: Picking him up would be a temproary fix.(Age)

Draft: The way it looks all type flight running backs will be gone by the time we pick, but what do I or anyone know about top flight running backs,(Trell Davis 6th round?) Its always a crap shoot.
